He who does not consume himself with the injuries, futilities and enthusiasms, who does not enervate with fear, and does not boil with desires and envy, is a sage; with serenity and firmly he is serene and in harmony with himself. -Cicero

"Show me yours and I'll show you mine."

Posted 10/16/10
"Who am I?" Maybe you've never even asked yourself this question. You might think you already know who you are. Unfortunately, however, it's likely that you don't know who you are at all. And if you don't know your real identity, you're in trouble. You'll spend your life in a kind of dream state—you'll falsely identify yourself as something or someone you aren't. Then, on the basis of this false identification, you'll determine the goals of your life and the purpose of your existence. You use these goals to gauge whether you are making "progress" in life, whether you are a "success." And you are aided and abetted in this delusion by a complex network of relationships with other dreamers. Of course, at death (and sometimes before), the whole thing turns into a nightmare." -Jagad Guru Chris Butler Siddhaswarupananda Paramahams

Directly copy pasted off my blog...

* Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

* If the world was constrained to common sense, it wouldn't be any fun.

* A fighting technique that does not accept death as the consequence does not deserve to be called a martial art.

* All is the one, and one is the all. Only when all the one's gather, can there be an all.

* wickedness, indifference, ignorance, greed and myopia destroy any possibility of a Utopia

* Distance is to love what wind is to fire. Extinguishes the small, but ignites the great.

* Wise men make wise quotes, fools repeat them.

Well since i've been a fool and quoted Wise men, shall I make some of my own quotes?

* It is all in the eye of the beholder, and if you can find common eyes, it will weigh heavily on the perceived truth.

* Through and through, if one shall fall, the rest will soon follow. If we stand as one, we are invincible.

* There is no evil in conflict, only in government. Don't judge by which conflict is just, but by the purpose and means in which a government acts.

* Actions speak louder then words, and yet it is usually words that influence the action.

* Never forgive, never forget, for it is when we choose to forget history that we are truly damned.

* Love, hate, sex and pain, keep on spinning, and going insane.

* Balance is needed in life, but not required.

* Love runs deeper than flesh.

* Take the path less traveled.

All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring.

Did perpetual happiness in the Garden of Eden maybe get so boring that eating the apple was justified?

I just don't want to die without a few scars.

I used to work in a funeral home to feel good about myself, just the fact that I was breathing.

We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.

More and more, it feels like I'm doing a really bad impersonation of myself.

No matter how much you think you love somebody, you'll step back when the pool of their blood edges up too close.

Reality means you live until you die. The real truth is nobody wants reality.

Since change is constant, you wonder if people crave death because it's the only way they can get anything really finished.

The lower you fall, the higher you'll fly.

We are not special. We are not crap or trash, either. We just are. We just are, and what happens just happens.

And of course, possibly his most famous quote: "The only difference between suicide and matyrdom is press coverage" Thanks to Panic! At The Disco using it for the title of one of their songs :3

ALL SAID BY CHUCK PALAHNIUK. (Most famous for his book/ movie Fight Club, Choke, Survivor, Lullaby..etc.)
That man is a GOD. A lot of these quotes are from his books too.

these poems gives me strength

By Samuel Ullman

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being’s heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what’s next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.

Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!
