OK! Chuck Norris thread!

Chuck Norris once kicked a horse in the chin. Its decendants are known today as Giraffes.

It's an egg shape. However, not so long ago, everyone believed that the world was flat. So if you kept going, you would eventually fall off. Scientists are not SURE that the egg is a round shape, but from what they have seen and stuff, they guess. So maybe some day in the future scientist will say that the Earth is actually a cube or something! I know you may all laugh now, but maybe people would be laughing at us then, because we thought that the world was round! Lol that's what my teacher said. o.o

Who discovered that the world was, indeed, in a roundish shape, that is to say, who discovered that the world is somewhat spherical?

It was a guy named Eratosthenes who was alive from 276-194 BC. He used two cities as a point on Earth and used a star in the sky to conclude that the Earth was round by looking at the angle in which light bends over the two cities. Paying attention in school would help in answering this question.

Which proves Orangeflute's point in another thread that spelling does matter. If I meant "who is" I should have spelled it thus.

either that or both sinbad and I are a couple of smartasses. ;]
