yeah I agreed with about the money part, because sometimes copyright gets overate like the milk company (produces with cow's milk) wanted to sue the soy milk company for the usage of the word "milk" in their product. With art work and words there should be a fine line of when it is legal and illegal.

LOL really? Milk? Wow! That reminds me. I heard(NOTE: heard not sure if it's true) Donald Trump has claimed copyright on the phrase "Your Fired!"

Hope I don't get sued.

I'm just simply stating "Please refrain from using foul language I wish not to start an argument just a discussion." Not really disagreeing with you. I'm sorry if that reply implied I wanted sympathy or compassion or just complaining.

you didn't even read what I had to type did you? Takes a deep breath, no-one really cares be honest with you, I am done with this thread since I do not want it to escalate to trolling/flaming.

why you gotta be such a dick fucking chill out troll

This person has a point here. If I made graphics with photoshop or illustrator entirely , (and I have done so, mostly with photoshop) and someone stole it and claimed it as theirs I'd be pretty pissed off too

Wow! Really you create your own work? Care to share your artistic skills?

To be honest, this is how I see it, though I could be wrong:

Originally, the pictures do not belong to you to begin with. 9/10 the pictures were either taken from an image search or another photo sharing community, re-edited, cut, and pasted along with other flashy things using Photoshop or some other picture editing software. Some people also try to put a copyright signature on their graphics that in actuality, weren't even there's to begin with, but were created by an original artist.

It really ticks people off that they spent their time on a graphic to put on their profile/group/page and have it downloaded on someone else computer and the edited out the words to put their name on it.

Ironically, this is exactly what you're doing. You're taking another person's art and re-editing it, claiming it as yours when it really isn't.

Crunchyroll really doesn't have any rules on this apparent issue, but I have brought it up once with a group of Moderators, and so far it hasn't led to anything.

so true

not really "artistic" but the files are in my school computer where I made some stuff for my web design class. My avatar is photoshopped tho, the girl standing behind me (a famous singer in korea) was photoshopped in there to make it seem like she is taking a picture with me. Clearly amateur but at a quick glance it seems legit =]

"many doujinshi are derivative works and dōjinshi artists rarely secure the permission of the original creator"
Most doujinshi don't ask for permission. It's not like America where author likes to sue over something silly

Rarely. Not never ..

Either way, I still prefer the original ... unless the Doujinshi is really good.

It's funny that people will never steal from a store or another person but once they log-on to the net they become klepto. It's unavoidable since most people are too lazy to create their own art. It's best not to get angry about the theives because basically by posting your image they're representing your art and style even if they claim it to be their own.

haha good for the employees, because bosses could said "Your Fired!". Hmm although they could said that they are unemployed, but its less effective. I do not copyright on things like words.

A couple in Canada have a law suit from GMO (genetic modify organism) company of canola, because their non-gmo canola have been turned into gmo canola. The company has a patent on it, so they have filed a law suit against the couple. The couple could not control the gmo canola seed to flow to their crop field. >o< the world is quite chaotic these days. The worst part of gmo plants would be they do not leave seeds behind.

Anything put on the internet is pretty much public.
If you have a blog set to private, there are still ways to get around it.

It's your choice whether you want to make and post your graphics online.
You should know that EVERYONE has access to it now.
