Great news but it will not be with benefit for us Mideastern . i wounder why Naruto is the only show we can watch while many of the others are not. . screw licenses i will watch it for free directly when it broadcast. paying this match just to watch Naruto it's not worth it while seeing all the other animation on the website.

You should introduce a new membership prices that will take care of the difference on Territories.

why do i have to pay the same yearly membership price as a person on North America he can see all Animes in the website while I'm restricted on almost all of them??????

The problem is rights agreements, whether with broadcasters, cable channels, or DVD distributors, that allow them to deny streaming permission, combined with the rights holders being so clueless that they think they benefit by denying permission.

The rights holders are just wrong: the bootleg streamers stream anywhere, they do not region block. So when they deny permission, they just give a bigger audience to bootleg streamers, and lose the opportunity to do marketing tie-ins with a legit streamer. But whether they are right or wrong, being a legit streamer means that the rights holders have to be respected even when they are wrong.

But an availability discounts would seem to be fairly simple and fair. Like, if fewer than half the simulcasts are available in your region, you can apply for a 50% discount.

The way things are heading, since CR does not really target Region5 at all, that would be a Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe, Middle East, and Southeast Asia discount.

That's Region 5

I for one is excited that CR is getting this. I personally havent watched Bleach in a very long time since the annoying filler and just gave up on it. I'm just glad CR will be getting more eyeballs on the site. Hopefully this will bring in more revenue for more anime I like.

For all the hyperactive kids that hate streams, who cares? if you're not smart enough to figure out how to see your anime like you did for years without supporting the creators then you probably shouldn't be able to see them and apparently you are already in such a position.

I don't get it. How long has anime existed? How long has manga? How long has fansubbing and scanlation? According to history, anime has been in production for 93 years. Manga even longer than that. Fansubbing about 30 years, scanlation about 40. How long has Crunchyroll existed? See where I'm going with this?

The industry has survived two recessions, two world wars, two nuclear missiles, and you think it will just suddenly...disappear...buckle under the weight...because a few people won't pay a website that can barely walk, let alone stand on its own two feet? And you think this website is the only means to support an industry that's existed for little over a century? Here's an idea: Get over yourself.

The administrators of this for-profit organisation think they're morally and ethically incorruptible, but if you knew the full story you'd realise just how hypocritical that assertion really is. Waving their moral compass around, they weren't exactly abiding by their own rules back when they started out. Isn't that right, shinji?

Garbage.

Love CR but for me it's more reference then actual viewing.
I would love to support the animators but guess they don't really need it since they don't give license free for belgium. back to the good old illegal ways i guess. ...

Crunchyroll has been doing this less than two years - obviously there are existing rights holders in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, etc. that are blocking the stream.

No, Canada and the US is Region 1, the rest of the Americas, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand are region 4, Southeast Asia is Region 3, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa is Region 2 (also Japan, but all CR streams are region blocked to Japan).

Yes! I can finally watch Bleach in a website that ROCKS!

Too bad their subtitles will be less than mediocre, but I guess that's fine with you since you only want to see the episodes and not understand what the characters say correctly.
PG-13, for kids and americans.:)

CR has no control over nor anything to do with the subtitles.

Yes but crunchyroll can still allow Dattebayo to continue releasing it, so that everyone who is ok with the PG-13 subtitles can still watch it and all the people who hate the PG-13 can still watch Dattebayo.

Dattebayo asks that Crunchyroll to please allow them to continue subtitling Bleach. I support Dattebayo 100% and will be deeply sickened if the Anime I've come to know and love gets butchered with "gosh" and "darn"s. Shinji, Please allow Dattebayo to still release Bleach!

JankYO Can you stop saying that crunchyroll subs are PG-13 only because DB add swears (Fu*k, dic* head and so on) doesn't mean that they actually say it.. if you have at least a little knowledge of Japanese language you would notice that.

How about you moderators actually moderate and NOT ban people left and right when people say things you don't necessarily agree with?

Not hiring people like Zeronite with an itchy trigger-finger would be a start.

If you haven't noticed, banning is apart of moderating. It has nothing to do with "deleting posts we don't llike," but it dose have something to do with users who continue to break the CR forums rules.

Do you speak Japanese? If so I would love for you to prove your point. If not I don't really see that they add swears. and it's not like they go around the whole anime cursing off it's just when they do swear they will be subbed into something that is PG-13.

But I think JankYO is a bit to "enthusiastic" to say the least about supporting Dattebayo. All Dattebayo asks is that Shinji and Crunchyroll still allow them to release Bleach. It's not that big a deal. all those who are ok with PG-13 can watch crunchyroll all those who love Dattebayo can wait and watch theirs. It's not a bad solution to the upset this is causing with some people.

How long has online video streaming existed? When was YouTube founded? When was Veoh founded? When was Megavideo founded? When did MySpace start free video streaming? Those are the main places that the leech streamers sneak their illegal uploads.

The industry has survived two recessions, two world wars, two nuclear missiles, and you think it will just suddenly ... disappear ... buckle under the weight ...

The anime industry that we are talking about got started in Japan in the 1960's, so it has survived far more than two recessions, no world wars, no nuclear missiles (sic) ... despite the declining Japanese market in the last decade, it boomed with the growth in international licensing for cable broadcast which exposed anime to new viewers beyond the reach of VHS era fansubs, and led to first VHS then DVD sales from the mid-90's until 2003.

And its been declining ever since, under the onslaught of low-cost Internet distribution of bootlegs, both in Japan and overseas.

A supporting anime fan wants to support the people that make the work. Crunchyroll gives supporting fans a way to support the people that make the work.

Any anime fan would of course want to have a growing number and variety of anime produced. If Crunchyroll continues to grow, it will be more and more important in allowing anime to be made.

Our opinions matter a little to the industry in Tokyo because we are responsible for a little revenue. As CR and other legit streaming sites grow, our opinions will matter more.

If you do not want to be a part of that, then don't be. If you think that the opinion of people who freeload bootlegs matters to the industry in Tokyo, then contact them directly and good luck with that, mate.

Its been proven that DB adds swears where it isnt needed from naruto shippuden animated releases in basic cable/satellite tv in japan. Think about it, if Hiden really did say F&%* on TV all the time then naruto shippuden would be for mature audiences only and be airing late at night in japan because of that. The manga version already has a higher rating then naruto part 1 due to that and shino smoking, due to the Asuna incident, but thats the manga.

Is that a new press release? The last one I read, what they asked was to be hired by TV Tokyo and Studio Pierrot to do the subtitles.

Dattebayo knows that there is nothing they can do to stop the leech streamers from illegally uploading their fansubs to the free streaming sites and then setting up a website that wraps advertising around the players for the different free streams hidden on the different free streaming sites.

They know that because they have tried, they have asked, they have issued C&D letters ... there is just no way they can force the leech streamers to respect the wishes of DB and leave the fansub to torrent download and irc distribution.

Since the leech streamers will always take their work to compete head to head with legal distribution, DB will expect that they will get a C&D to stop one of the leech streamers supply sources. They want to support legal distribution, so they are simply dropping the project.

Japan has a different rating system then we do for their TV airings.....That really doesn't prove anything...

This is directly from an announcement they made:

DB, and I personally, would like you to lend your support to this effort, but we'd like you to do a bit more. We'd like you to add in that you'd like us to work on it. Every week almost 200,000 of you download our Bleach releases, twice as many as Crunchyroll would like to see answer their petition. If you all came together and made known your desire to have DB continue to work on Bleach, it makes a compelling case. If nothing else, no one can say we didn't try. You can show your support by typing it in the "additional comments" field on the petition, and also by registering on their site and posting in the thread which I have linked to below.

yes they clearly will drop it but, if CR allows then it will still be done by DB. I preffer to read the DB subs.
