Internet Explorer for Xbox will be neither, and did you see Micrososft E3 press. It's like a hybrid between Surfing on a smartphone and something else. I dont think it will come with a desktop mode with icons, menus...

But who knows...

That is why I specifically mentioned the metro version of the browser, since it is what I would expect IE on the XBOX 360 to resemble. The Metro version of IE 10 resembles IE on Windows Phone 7 (no surprise, since it is also the Metro interface).

My point was that even on the PC, the Metro version of the browser only includes a limited version of Flash that works on a list of whitelisted sites (and even that was added only late in the game). That means it is unlikely 360 owns will be able to view CR in the browser once it is available.

Well if Crunchyroll has any talent at all when it comes to SEO, we should be fine...

But still i have no doubt there is an app on the way, ignoring over 50 million+ Xbox 360 and more as next-gen comes around. Nope noway Crunchyroll will let all that cash just slide by.

I as well would be happy with an XBOX 360 App to watch CR; PS3 is a nice direction but I don't always use the PS3. As for the IE browser coming to 360 I'm sure it will use HTML5 natively since Adobe is starting to decline with the bugs and all (which is why android 4.0+ will no longer support Flash as well). HTML5 is faster than Flash and it's where browsers are headed. If CR would switch to it it would probably transition over to the new dashboard coming this fall pretty well.

I think it's shit to buy for every service a new device. Electical energy costs me more and more...
Why have always Apple the first devices which becomes apps? When was this discussion started? 2010?
I undescibed Kabeldeutschland because 34€ for only watching Animax is to mutch and they play all the time the same( 3 or 4 times a day the same episode and on weekend all episodes of the week by switching the series). But a new device like Boxee is not aviable when I get 200€ for life (I'm a student).
It will be nice CR on azbox (Premium HD) too, but there are less people than on xbox 360 and it have problems with youtube...

Me and the other nine voices in my head for Xbox360-app!

I would like a xbox360 app too. It's not fair that the Playstation3 get one aswell. (even though I have both.) It would be a great addition. The only sad thing is it would proberly only be avalible in america like the PS3 one and near enough everything on CR.

I'd like the app to make it's way to the 360 as well. I'm already excited that CR didn't leave out the Windows Phone in its app lineup, I just hope they can keep the ball rolling and put it on the 360. It would be great if I could go from dominating scrubs in Assassins Creed, to watching SKET Dance and Bleach.

Ill bump this thread, CR, I canceled my membership cause for some silly reason you guys can't seem to wrap your heads around the notion that there are more Xbox's out there than any other unit. You NEED to get on the Xbox. I will not renew my membership until I can sit down on my couch, turn on my Xbox, and watch CR on it.

It isn't a silly notion. While more Xbox 360s have sold world wide, 67 million vs 63 million, it isn't that big of a difference especially if you consider that the Xbox 360 has a whole year head start on the PS3. But that doesn't matter, what matters if which console do Crunchyroll Members use more.

Crunchyroll made a poll asking users which console they prefer and own and the PS3 won by a large margin. CR is a business that wants to make a profit so they are going to develop for the platform that will give them more subscriptions. That does not mean that CR will never make an Xbox 360 app, it just means that it does not get priority if the PS3 has more users.

Also, it could be the difference between how hard it is and the cost to get an app on one console versus the other. The Xbox 360 may just be more expensive or harder to release an app for than the PS3.

This appears to be the case. There seem to be no plans for Flash support on the Xbox Internet Explorer browser, in which case CR videos (in their current state) will not play on it. This makes me sad... Really the only reason I was at all interested in Xbox IE was the slight chance that I could watch CR on it. Of course, Xbox IE supports html5. Perhaps one day CR will make the move... but until then, I'm going to get on my knees and beg. *ahem*

Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaase make a Crunchyroll Xbox app! Please oh please oh please!!

The problem with HTML5 video via the browser is the lack of protection. Even though protected Flash streams can be ripped, content providers (the licensors) still expect it.

Even if CR tried to make the HTML5 streams work only with the IE browser on the XBOX 360 (where it would obviously be nigh impossible to install a ripping tool), computers are rather versatile devices that can be made to spoof other systems.
