Are VIZ Media's subtitles for Bleach as good as Dattebayo's?

What a cop out reply, no they aren't they're so bad I have to think this is a giant "you have been trolled" scam..

You guys really are spinning the whole thing to try and make it seem like you did "nothing"..

Ah well, will just motivate a group SICKENED by these horrible subs to sub it themselves.. Let's be honest, if you aren't going to put ANY effort into the subs, someone else will..

I'm disappointed in the whole situation, switching between subbers can be annoying at times, but the overall idea of having to stream in SD, just doesn't fit for me. I'm sure the other 200,000 DB Bleach DL'ing users are not going to find this transition too pleasant. I'm not sure on everyone's awareness of the other Bleach subbers, but theres this great little place called ~removed. Please don't link others to a pirating site on Crunchyroll~ Kippu, with a few different groups providing subs for Bleach in 480p, their quality of translation I can't speak for, but I think most who are losing DB, would rather try another fansub instead of CR. Not trying to hate on CR.

Yo,

So i was reading the whole region explanation that someone posted in the other topic before it got raided and i was wondering if it is actually normal that the Netherlands have the license to get the stream but Belgium doesn't. Isn't it the same region?

...
PS: Viz has license to air in EU still belgium according to CR isn't there. I know we are small but we are like that spot on your map wich you think is a fly :)

The problem is normally the individual broadcaster in a country that under the present contract can block legal streaming, has to decide whether or not to grant permission.

It is of course silly - there are always bootleg streams available, so its not like the broadcaster is stopping anything by refusing to grant permission. But it took three weeks to get that across to all the broadcast rights owners in the case of Naruto.

If you're not trying to hate on CR then please respect it's rules. One being no advertising other sites, especially illegal ones.

Thanks ;]

Lol don't really mind the subs just can't watch anime.
I can understand a big portion of the anime but without the subs i would be lost. Don't really care who it belongs too.

There are a few bad ones out but never had to complain that much about it

And lots of countries are in the same boat. All of Southeast Asia - I heard someone from somewhere in SEA say when they look at the list of live anime, they have like anime to choose from. I think Naruto, Time of Eve and one other.

Spain, Portugal, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia sounds like Animax blocking it.

ANN lists Kana Video distributing a French dub to Cartoon Network France, Club RTL (Belgium), France3, Game one, NT1, Teletoon (Canada), TSR2 (Switzerland) ... so you might write to Club RTL to ask if they would give permission to allow licensed simulcast streaming of Bleach with English subtitles into Belgium.

Pirating? You got to be kidding me right? Wouldn't every other fansub group be pirating then? Didn't realize taking a PUBLIC tv show, and adding subs to share with others be considered pirating. So If I were to stream, I am in the clear now? Didn't I achieve the same goal, watching a tv show.

You might want to include what DB had to say on the subject (which is exactly what I was trying to tell everyone on the other thread...):

Please note that Crunchyroll did not in any way force, coerce, recommend, or suggest that we drop Bleach. DB has in fact not had any communication directly with Crunchyroll regarding this issue or any other. We are dropping Bleach because we support legal alternatives to fansubs and we hope you will too.

Since over half of CR's revenue goes to the producers, I am assuming you are calling the creators of the work a bunch of rich somebodies.

I don't know whether TV Tokyo is rich or not, but they are definitely not as rich as they used to be before leech streamers and torrent RAWs killed their anime advertising revenue.

Studio Pierrot is definitely not a bunch of rich anybody's. Anime studios live paycheck to paycheck.

But thanks for the hating and y'all please come back and play again. If you keep spewing stuff out at random, you'll hit a fact sooner or later.

Yes, we're very hurt by your comments. We're so hurt in fact that we're all going to cancel our memberships and go watch this show somewhere else for free. We can't thank you enough for your wise and truthful comments...

~~~~~~~~ Warning Constructive Rant Ahead ~~~~~~
See the only problem I have is that when CR says they want to acquire an Anime, its like an ultimatum to Fansubbers. in this case it was a VERY popular sub group, Dattebayo. Now see another thing that I dont like is the fact that CR releases the new episodes to free users 1 week AFTER the air-date. It would make MUCH more sense to shorten it to something like 3 days until free users can see it. Now I understand that CR is a LEGAL streaming site, but the thing is though that you are to an extent "ruining" the anime fanbase. I mean sure, there are SOME people who are happy with CR, but there are a great deal of others who aren't.
I think that CR still has quite a LOT to learn when it comes to Anime, first off Anime fans SPAN THE GLOBE. In other words, if you're going to get a streaming license for an anime like Naruto or Bleach, you should ensure that ALL of your users can view it, and not just the ones that you have regional permission from. Things like acquiring regional permission should be done BEFORE applying for the license. My point is that CR was saying how it wanted to bring Bleach over and they acquired amazing support for their cause, however I feel it was a mistake on their part not to inform the users of the details that some of them might not be able to view it EVEN IF THEY HAVE A PREMIUM membership.
Another thing, and this is directed towards Basou and the other members of the moderating team. You need to give people a place to express their feelings about what's happened now on the forums, be it a sticky or a regular thread on the forums. So far most of the threads i've seen that have discussed the debate of CR vs. DB and the problems that users are having viewing Bleach, have been LOCKED, giving people nowhere to go to talk about this. Yes I understand that the forums have guidelines and rules that must be followed, but the point still remains that you need to allow people to talk about EVERYTHING concerning CR, ESPECIALLY the controversial things (albeit constructively).
I'm not accusing CR of "stealing" Bleach, although many people have said this in a metaphorical sense. I'm saying that I'm highly displeased with the way CR is going about this. My main point of this post is that I think CR is really only making moves that seem to be ideal in a BUSINESS sense. However, while CR may be a business, it's also subject to user review and feedback. Like for example, I'm 100% sure that if everyone stopped coming to this site, CR would shut down. That's an example of User Review at work, the example showed what happens to what people deem as "bad sites." If CR were to change its practices concerning some of the BIG POPULAR Anime (i.e. Bleach, Naruto, Gundam, etc.) then there would be less "backlash" and fewer unhappy users, and my guess....more subscribing users too.
~~~~~~~~~End of rant~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

To address your concern over licensing rights I would direct you to any major sports TV contract. The NHL recently had games blacked out due to a license dispute here in the US. Mexico just signed a major deal to guarantee rights to the NFL. Fifa and the Olympics both host major auctions for local rights to their sports.
All of this is simple when it is one group dealing with one group, but CR is dealing with the owners of the show, the holders of the distribution license and the many local license holders and all it takes is one to raise a flag and Bleach or any other show can't be shown in an area. Never assume international dealings are easy especially when contracts and lawyers are involved.
