I Dont Agree With This At All, I Can See The Point Of Anime Being Stolen, Thats Why Crunchy Have Created The Membership Whereas I Buy My Anime, But Im Not Prepared To Wait An Extra 5-6Months Until The New Chapters Come Out On Amazon Or Other Websites And Im Paying A Fuckton For What Is In Essential A Book.

I know how this witch hunt will end... The American manga publisher will share the same fate as the American anime publisher; a slow and painful death!

In order to stop them, we must disunite them.
Therefore we must start world war 3.

From what I gather is that they want to ban sites who use scanlations and charge money. So if a site simply provides free scans they are okay, but if they charge money or get paid by advertisers or paid by users then they will be sanctioned. That is how I am reading it. So some of the free sites should still be up if someone just scans them in and does not receive money or kick backs or anything from advertisers and users. I might be wrong but that is how I read it.

Well, from what I gather, those publishers say that sharing those manga (even for free) online without the proper authorization is a form of piracy/theft which they want to stop.

GL to these companies. They beat mangafox half to death but there are millions of other sites out there. There are a million links to DL series. To bad for the companies but for now the Internet will always win.

OneManga was where i first read manga....then i bought*fond memories* but if the manga sites ask for money for work that does not belong to them, they should be taken down for sure

may be people could just start buying manga?

people buy anime?? are you crazy, most people are lazy and do not want to waste their money on set products. I will say one thing, I love scanlations due to the fact it gives me a preview of what I am going to buy before I do so. I can read 4 different languages so I can could always import some manga but the kinda I like would get weird looks <.</

true....especially anime fans...but they could just get from the library i do that a lot, or may be no one has a car.....

shame on me for expecting others to have a job and a car too!

Well, I'm 14 but I guess I can still afford to buy just one volume of one manga title each week but I can't since,
(1) libraries in my country (or maybe those within the town I live in) don't have manga. I doubt other libraries here do anyway.
(2) even bookstores hardly have any. Once I went to a popular one and they only have 5 titles available consisting of 1 volume each. Last time I checked they were still the only mangas there and they weren't even updated.

So in short, I have no choice but to rely on those manga sites, which however, are being threatened of being removed.

You think they could continue translating manga and post them up on youtube or something?

I already noticed MangaFox removed Kaichou wa maid-sama manga from their website. Luckily OneManga still have it. But they can't stop manga to be read on the internet and be translated to English. That would be immoral.

im not to lazy to buy anime or manga i just can't afford it, tough i agree charging money for a work that isn't yours is pretty bad, and unfortunately on line sites are pretty much the only place i can read manga and watch anime, personally i used to buy all my manga but the only place around that sells it is losing their selection hell i never managed to finish blade of heaven because i bought up to volume 9 but then when i tried to get the 10th volume they told me it was no longer being published and they had no more even in their ware houses, thats the other problem some of the less popular stuff can only be found online not that i don't want to help them buy buying it i just can't.

so ya cracking down on the sites making money off this is good but the free sites sucks they just want people to enjoy stuff
