Oh wow, what is Crunchyroll doing with Queen's Blade? That anime is packed to the rim with nudity and other explicit sexual scenes -- there's no way they can have it on here without censoring the life out of it. A good anime, just not one suited for an official anime simulcast site.

Awesome I'm currently watching the second season now. I was actually waiting for Media Blasters to put out a complete box set first before rewatching the first but I don't mind checking it out here as long as it stays uncensored.
I remember dropping the show after the first 10 minutes when I first saw it but after giving it another chance it didn't turn out that bad at all. Lots of T&A for sure but it's a fun show to just sit back and watch. Plus it's got a great OST. |

So, who uploaded it, and why do you reckon they decided to upload the censored version? Its not as if Crunchyroll is doing the censoring, after all - its being done by the production studios in Japan (or sometimes by international license holders) for broadcast. Crunchyroll streams what the rights holders upload. So the question is, why the rights holder decided to upload that version? For a simulcast, there is likely to be little choice - there is often not very much time between finishing an episode and the time it goes to air. Getting the uncensored cut finalized in time for a simulcast would often be impractical. It seems that many but not all rights holders have been treating a Crunchyroll stream like a broadcast even when using older material. Or they may think that they get the most royalties if there are no Crunchyroll members who are age-blocked. MediaBlasters, as an international licensor, might be looking at the market for subs as mostly killed off by bootleg subs, and may be using the sub stream in hopes of selling the hybrid release for those who actually prefer dubs. If that is their strategy, they may think the uncensored sub will attract more attention to their fan-service bonanza, and so sell more DVDs. I'm not trying to make this a big deal here. All I am saying is that if one show is going to be uncensored, then the others should be to.....Nothing more...nothing less. |

Thing is, isn't Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou a simulcast? They probably haven't even finished producing the uncensored cut when it starts streaming on CR. Queen's Blade, OTOH, has been out on DVD in Japan for a long time, so MediaBlasters is free to pick which cut to upload for streaming. Then let me use another example. Omamori Himari (love that anime) ...that was censored......and it has been out longer. it was censored from the source material that cr got. The studio that cr signed up with this series said aired it censored, queens blade is just more of an dvd rip. |

Awesome choice. Nice action. Good story, and fun characters,
Now I'd like to see Crunchy get Sekirei and it's sequel. (Too bad Fun-Abomination licensed the first season already) |

And I can't wait for the sequel to come out to! In my opinion, Sekirei has the best action out of any ecchi anime.......hmmm...you know...CR should have picked up Sekirei before Queen's Blade....in my opinion of course. |

If one anime maker wants their show to be available for streaming by the largest number of viewers possible, and another anime maker thinks that its interests are best served by uploading uncensored shows ... they made the shows. If the decision they make is a "mistake", its their right to make that mistake. (2) Since the largest number of shows uploaded are the broadcast cuts, and therefore censored, imposing "you all have to do the same thing" is the same as forbidding any uncensored shows at all. I don't want that. |
