i just recently purchased a premium membership. anyways been watching alot of anime i never heard before. must say i am liking my membership very much! although i do have a question. i watched the episodes for queens blade and noticed the nudity level (who wouldnt?). how come while i am watching charger girl juden chan it looks like they censored it? i thought it was the show at first but after 4 episodes i am sure its CR doing this. i must say it does bother me watching it. it was like when i was young and watching DBZ and clearly noticing what was on the screen didnt match the context or didnt make sense. while i realize some of the shows (ecchi in question) shows questionable content, why am i paying for a membership for shows to just be censored? if i had a problem with a show i just move on. just saying.

From what I have read on the forums here is up to the disturber to censor it or not. Queens Blade who is from Media Blasters( one of my personal favorite anime distributors) know that the reason people are watching the show is for the big bouncy boobs so they did not want to censor it even on CR

I may be wrong on this but I believe it up to the company who owns the rights that want to censor the anime and not CR. If I am wrong please feel free to call me out on it.

But I do agree with you. This is the internet Why in the world is it censored! It's not like you are accidentally going to stumble on it. This is an old TV model that a lot of companies still just dont understand the internet is an open forum and that there is no need for blurred content because of a nipple. There are no regulations, no FCC, no fines for it. So why do they still insist on doing this. It is a bit disappointing and annoying especially if you are paying for content that it gets censored.

Cencorship makes me sick! It is evil and should not exist in the modern world.

I really don't think that Crunchyroll has anything to do with it.

Nah, nothing to do with CR. From what I can tell they get the episode that airs first and if it's censored for Japan then it's censored for us too. Queens Blade is coming from a DVD source, subs and all, so credit for that uncensored goodness goes to Media Blasters.

True that! I totally agree.

What the others have said is mostly true, except for the fact that CR has at least once assisted in censorship. CR's involvement with the censoring of Ju-Den Chan:

Anime News Network wrote:

Crunchyroll acknowledges the edits in its press release: "In preparing the title for a broader audience, avex entertainment, Inc. and Crunchyroll have worked closely together to make slight alterations to the original Japanese version of the show, which will later be used for its Japanese rebroadcast on UHF stations." Crunchyroll has not yet responded to ANN's request for further comments.
