I used to be in several tunings before like Drop C, B, Bb, A, etc, but now I can be in standard without worrying about alternate tunings as much haha just play around with it. What kind of guitar do you have? If you were deciding on down tuning you might need thicker strings and a new setup so it can be played correctly. Remember though if you do get thicker strings try not to tune higher because you might damage the guitar because of the tension! o.o
