Well as you knw most people find the word nigger offensive and that goes back to the endless discussion about words in the first group!

But as for Nas it should be interesting to see what his take shall be on this album!

Well as i think the stuff i heard of him after the 2 albums wasnt my thing... on the other hand i have this song in wich he collaborates with Mobb Deep wich is pretty underground sound like back in the day.... So maybe there is hope

He is trying to creat controversy. Just like he did when he said hip hop is dead; and what happen some artists got mad and started puttting effort into their music. Evidently he is trying to spark something. But in reality who cares it's an album cover; listen to the music and i'm pretty sure you'll forget all about the cover.

I HAD AN INTERESTING THOUGHT 2DAY.....

if Nas dropped illmatic in 2000 & continued with all his following albums, at the rate of say .... 1 or 2 albums a yr..... does anybody think that Nas would be Underground or Subtle mainstream ???? think on it

Oh shit haha that's pretty weird, I don't think Illmatic would've been as popular with the masses if it dropped in 2000 but he might still be subtle mainstream..Illmatic is a classic though, definitely my favorite Nas album and it's my dad's favorite hip-hop album of all time.

yeah i was kinda thinking he'd have the MF Doom level of fame... He'd be Underground but his name would be well known.... but when i thought of that question, i wasnt thinking about the JayZ Beef, that really marked his popularity.... so he would definatly have to Ether somebody.... if not JayZ then it would probly be 50... or it could be somebody underground

Ooo yeah you're right about that..but even without the beef with Jay he would've still had a pretty large fanbase underground simply because Illmatic is a dope ass album
