disagree. If you haven't watched ANY episodes then yes. but if you give a series a try, and find it sucks. Then whats the point of watching anymore. Take Heroman, after 1 episode I know it's sh!t, not going to watch any more, but I've got an opinion on it from that ep so I can criticize it.

Agree with you completely, don't know about Heroman cuz I haven't watched it but there are some anime when you watch one episode, you will find its absolutely ridiculous in plot/character or whatever. You can form an opinion about those.

If you haven't seen a single episode of a particular season then you have no right to say anything other than say why you won't see it, but please don't bash the series on assumptions.

If you've seen half to all of a series you can pretty much say whatever you want with an informed opinion, and have a discussion based on others who have seen that series too.

I've read/seen every KissxSis manga/anime and I like the series, is the story morally wrong? Yep, but that's not why I watch. I watch for the attempt of most of the female characters try to jump the lead male character. Each character has a different personality and different angle on their attempt to seduce the male. They all fail of course as it is a TV broadcast afterall, but it's fun to watch. The youngest girl is the most perverted, the oldest is the sister of the youngest is a female closet otaku, the twins are different and a girl in the same grade as the boy falls into the perverted situations completely unintentionally. All in all there is no sex at all in the series and that's my point. I've read posts in a few places that say it's immoral, gross, wrong, and so much more and usually all in the same post. That's the kind of opinion I tend to ignore.

I give anime more than one episode as it's supposed to be for character development and usually doesn't have much to do with the rest of the series. If I based everything I thought about a series from the first episode I wouldn't have seen Angel Beats, Working!!, Heroman, or even Clannad. Hell, I though the first episode of Bleach sucked, does that mean I wouldn't like the rest of it?

I disagree technically if someone doesn't finish an anime and they did not like it, then they have the right to criticize it. I personally watch the first 4 episode of anime... if I don't see it'ss good within those 4 episode, then I'll consider it that it suck.

I disagree, because some people can judge the anime depending on the eps they watched so far.

I agree, only if they watched like.. 2 eps out of 50 or something.

I'm actually a dude that watches an anime even when i think it sucks: He's my master, green green tv are 2 examples of anime i watched from start till end, but honestly i think those suck.

But back on topic, when u don't finish an anime, u may form an opinion about the episodes u have watched so far, but don't critisize the anime as a whole.
Some anime are slowstarters u have to watch through the first episode before getting a good feeling watching it.
For example: Claymore heard some great storys about it (watched it myself) but also strorys off people who think the anime suck, those people stopped after watching/reading after a few chapters
And in particular Jigoku Shoujo (hell girl) this anime starts slower than a grandma in a wheelchair left alone in an elavator that got stuck.
but once it's starts roling it's magnificent.

Otherwise can happen to: Death note first season/first half was great, but the second season/half was in my opinion terrible.

To make a long story short: critize only what you see, like people anime can change.

Totally disagree

Only if the person has never seen the series, then their opinion is invalid, but if the person actually took the time to watch the first few episodes of a series, only to realize that they just wasted 50 or more mins of their life that they can't get back, then by all means yes.

I agree and disagree, you have to at least have watched 1/3 to be able to say you "hate" it. But if you still think it's bad after watching that much then you shouldn't waste your time watching the rest.
Also it really depends on the length...if its a long anime you have to watch at least half of it...if it's a really short anime, 2 episodes should be enough.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. The first episode is usually for character dev. and simple plot layout. The first episode doesn't determine how the whole series will turn out.

In a 13 episode series. Hell any length of a series. Watching the first episode and giving up is stupid...since its always for introduction to characters. Watching 2nd or 3rd is where you make the decision.

How a long anime series like One Piece which has over 400 episodes. You cant really put it proportionally to a 13 episode series. After the first 2 or 3 episodes...the same amount of time to a 2-3 episodes of a 13 episode series.....the anime should have either hooked you or not. If you dont like it from that amount of episodes....its kinda understandable....even tho the anime gets a lot better as episodes go by.

So no one needs to have to finish any series on any occasion to figure out if it sucks or not.

But then again...if you saw someone in a forum who totally flamed the entire anime....well....unless they provide backing information as to why they dislike it....then their opinion is invalid regardless if they watched it or not. Providing reason to ones opinion is always neccesary.
