Screw people who look down on you for playing games.

Games are best.

Amen to that brother Frenzyy!

Not really. Sure you have to get a job but you had to go to school as well. The average school day is 6.5 hours so you usually only go to work for 1.5 hours more a day plus you get paid. Before you turn 16, if you had friends that weren't in walking/biking distance you had to ask to bring you. If you had your license you still had to get a job to get a car to use. Now I'm an adult. I can go where I want when I want. Sure you get more days off with summer and winter vacation but when you're an adult you get paid time off. The average in the us is 10 vacation days and 6 paid holidays. Since most con are on the weekend you can take off the Thursday before and Friday off AND take off the Monday afterwards to recover for 3 different cons and still have 1 vacation day and the holidays left. Plus again, if you didn't have a car or your friends lived to far away it was boring during the breaks. So for me the privileges of being an adult far out weigh the cons of having to pay bills and get a job.

I miss being a kid. Walking though the canals and exploring the neighborhood. I miss the energy and the flexibilty of mind I had to learn anything I put my mind to as long as it was fun. I miss being able to laugh and yell without anyone beside me judging me for it. I miss having friends that didn't care what I looked like or what kind of music I liked... I miss a lot about being a kid but mostly I miss the freedom to be myself without inhibitation.

I think I'm more carefree now then I was when I was a kid. Most of the crap I worried about when I was younger didn't matter. I've met more people and have gone more places as an adult as well.

I don't know that I miss being a kid exactly, but I kinda miss being a teenager. Not the part where the jocks picked on me, the girls rejected me, or the teachers yelled at me.... yeah, nostalgia makes us romanticize things into something better than they were. Anywyas tho, what I miss is that my friends hadn't all gotten married yet.

The only way I miss being a kid is that I miss the sense of wonder that I used to have. Mundane things were once way more amazing. I try to put myself in that headspace nowadays to limited success.

But as far as freedom goes, I have more than I did back then. I can do whatever I want any time I want except when I'm at work (but I used to go to school, so it's the same limitation.) I enjoy a lot of the same things I did as a child and a teenager, plus even more cool stuff, and I'm not sad about the things I've outgrown.
