Does anybody know why this show is called "Durarara"? And for that matter, what the F is "Durarara" anyway? BTW: this show is even more sensational than the popularity of the word epic.

Probably there's just no meaning for Durarara. It's just unique in it's own way. ^o^

Well it has a long story.

On the last page of the original novel, the author stated how this title came into his mind.

He has been working on the manuscript, and when he submitted to his editor. His editor asked:Have you thought of a title yet?

The author was like:Hm no,not yet...

Then COINCIDENTALLY at the time, someone(it may be his editor but I don't remember much of that) flipped a bundle of papers and it was making the noise:Dyurarara----

So the author was like:Yeah!DYURARARA!What a Good idea!I might make another series with the title as weird as Baccano so it might catch the readers.

And at the end,he mentioned that the title 's meanings varies between the readers,it's your own perspective.(Some might think that it might sound like a motorcycle)

But how this title originated was completely---RANDOM.

So it went somehow like that...And it was from the postscript of Vol3(or 4?Since I don't remember well)...

Ah but then again, the author had noted later that Durarara!! made sense because it sounded like Dullahan and how it relates to Celty along with the rest of the story. But in the end, it is just another random title.

Oh Narita-sensei. You and your random ways. xD

I guess we could just say that the title was made because it sounds like a Dullahan then~ C:

I think it more expresses the unpredictability of "normality" and the confusion of big city life smashed together with unbelievable legend

It was a random way of coming up with a name. The fact that people can still relate it to certain aspects in the anime, kind of illustrates the point of the story. Things can be strangely connected =)

i think the name was derived from dullahan
coz in the japanese tongue "L" and "R" sounds get mixed up
dullahan = durrahan = durarara
not trying to be rascist or anything... im jst saying

i think it's just a unique name....like Gosick.....people mistaken it for Gothic but the anime doesn't seem Gothic to me :p

Just to address something. Baccano was not a completely random title. Baccano actually means "racket" or "noise" in Italian.
