If you can just make a new toolbar that was like the old one to make it easy for us it was very helpful to us all on cr. I been on cr for long time I seen it change so many times some good and some not so good like this one. If you can try to find away to fix the toolbar so it dont give you problems for the site so you can put it back up or try moving some where else but everyone really like that toolbar.

Excuse the tone, but is this site for your personal preferences, or to provide a service to customers, including paying customers such as myself? Surely there could be proper engineering solutions to find a middle ground between site performance and retaining a feature that customers find useful. Were you retrieving all the information in the bottom bar with each page load? In the example of the favorites list in the bottom left hand corner, instead of loading all that information whether the user looks at it or not, load it at the time the user clicks on the link via AJAX and display it. Agree 100%. |

I noticed the notification bar but its loss isn't a biggie for me since I pretty much just come here to watch anime and that's it. As long as the username still gets a (x) beside it when you've got a notification I'll be happy.

i'm proud to say that i agree with most of the comments here.
the blackbar was an easy effiecient way of getting from one page to another. if the blackbar did slow down certain things then update the site with something similiar to it. also, i think it would be nice if you announced the updates before making them. so users can give some feedback. |

new account = snoopybear. only on this account for certain groups.

Why remove the toolbar? >_>
It wasn't hurting anyone down there! =O besides, it was really nice that I could click the favorites option on that toolbar and a list of all the titles and when they last updated/will update was displayed. The new favorites page does not have this information, so i actually have to click every series to check. Even if they do update on a regular schedule, that was still a really nice feature, and I used it alot, since I wasn't always paying attention to when things updated exactly. |

That's why I made a replacement - just bookmark http://www.crunchyroll.com/favs in your browser for now. I will think about making it easier to access.. I do not really buy your argument about loading times. If you think about what is important it is the time from when I get to the page to when the sought information is displayed. As it is now l first have to load the first page, click on the small triangle, select the favorites page, wait for that page to load, select in the menu which favorite category I want and then I have the information I wanted. This was previously done with one click in the black bar. That being said I actually agree with you that the black bar was not the perfect solution and I tried to think about what I wanted instead. What I would like is to have my watchlist and my favorite forum parts/topics displayed on the first page without any clicks at all. Realizing that people are using crunchyroll in different ways (myself using it almost exclusively to watch anime) the best way to implement this would be to make the first page customizable like iGoogle or youtube (might be other, better examples out there) where it is possible to enable/disable different parts depending on your needs. In my case I could have the watchlist on the first page showing the shows I follow, the site news and possibly something else, while others could have their inbox, favorite groups or whatever on their first pages. There are also some comments here about the fact that changes to the site "just happens" without any warning. How about having a public beta version of the site (something like beta.crunchyroll.com or something) where we can test future changes and send feedback before the changes are introduced on the main site. Beta testers could get crunchypoints or whatever they are called, a special achievement or something like that. |

Hey Shinji, I can understand not wanting lag on the site, but if people wanted fast chatting, they would use an IM system like MSN or Yahoo, we can deal with a bit of lag, but we need that notification bar at the bottom, its annoying having to scroll up to the top all the time. Also its a bit too quiet here, cant you do something about the music situation? Like allow us to use Playlist.com like the exclusive members? Competing sites like Anivide allow music and backgrounds free of charge, no advanced membership needed. Just saying this stuff would really help CR's popularity.

Hey Shinji, I got a suggestion. (Not sure if it is in play already or not) but I think that you should use some kind of point system. For example people can donate points to each other so that some people are able to buy some sort of membership. Look at deviantart.com for examples. For instance I bought a 3-month premium membership yesterday because my friend donated 687 points to me. The 3 month membership either costed $7.95 for 3 months or 600 points. And if someone wants a year membership it costs 2000 or so points or people can pay the required money. I just think this would be a good system for some of us who don't have to money to buy membership. So the point system is just an idea...but get back to me and let me know what you think. Much appreciation.
