First the blacks, then the woman, and now the gay.
In my school I was taught racism is bad, sexism is bad, but how can I believe that when the very people teaching me this discriminate against gay people. Haven't people learned that people are different and it's wrong to discriminate? In 30 years our children will go to school and be taught that hating a person for being gay is silly...while somewhere in this country a gay man will not be offered jobs because of his sexual oriantation, a woman will suffer critiscism for accepting a coroporate job and a black man's safety will be threatened.
edit: I know people are saying im pointing fingers at america and its just because thats where i live and i dont want to point fingers at other people's countries when i dont even live there or been there. JUST TO BE CLEAR I AM NOT SEXIST OR RACIST OR A HOMOPHOBE

well, i'll kinda understand if the military will not accept gay people. No one wants a soldier who will turn into a fairy at the middle of a gun fight

We've hated gays for a long time. It is nothing new. The conservative, white-Christian community doesn't want gays, and the same goes for all the "straight" guys trying to prove their machismo through having as much sex with women as they can get away with and suffer no ill consequences. America prides itself on a social dynamic of pure hate justified with the stupidest reasoning. All these tight-assed, psychotic people in my country have seriously fucked everything up.

I don't see what the problem is, leave the gay people alone. What you do in your bedroom is your business, not anyone else's.
Besides people have been hating on gays for centuries, this is nothing new, but its only a matter of time before they get their rights anyway. It was the same for blacks and women. Gays will get their day eventually.

It's not just in America that people who are "different" are targeted with hate and violence, it happens all over the world so don't just point your finger at the US.

O my god I might get an infection just by getting touch by one. Help God save from these voile creatures. Brakes out the crosses ward them away. Where an Alai loving Muslim they kill the viper’s heck, they kill just about anything in the war of jihad. Plenty of aquatints that are gay lesbian the can be fun to hang out with. My best friend so happens to be gay .I have allot of respect of him just happen to be a Doctor as well. He is a diehard democrat and I am a libertarian. Therefore, politics is not something we talk about whole lot.

I higher people on education now if a male cares himself in a flaming gay fashion I will not consider hiring. If the person speech contains U-bionics and depending on type job woman are out as well as man of small stature. I will consider as well. Depending on what type job it is.  |

Are you kidding me? Historically in many cultures around the world homosexuality was widely practiced by the warrior caste and in some like in Sparta and Japan it was highly encouraged.

I think the hate for homosexuals was intensified during the age of Christianity rather than the classical times. In ancient Greece homosexuality was admired, as mentioned above Sparta encouraged homosexuality to encourage their troop's morale. In Japan homosexuality was not also discouraged, in fact the Japanese are encouraged to "know" sexuality rather than deny it like most homophobic people as we know.

Homosexuality was prominent in ancient Greece and Rome, especially among the warriors because it encouraged unity and cooperation. Soldiers were more likely to fight more competently and passionately alongside people they had romantic relationships with, since they would want to protect them. It wasn't until the rise of Christianity that homosexuality was viewed as immoral and disgusting (in western civilization at least) and the long history of the persecution of gays and certain other minority groups began.
Even today there are some pretty tough gay guys who would kick your ass if you said something like that to them, including the ones in the military. It takes balls just to sign up to be in the military and knowingly risk your life for your country, so I doubt any gay person would "turn into a fairy" if they had enough guts to sign up for it.
