America loves the edge it teeters on. All the urban sprawls of social decay are a part of the land she calls home. It is one well-thought out dream, but you have to be asleep to believe it.

Urban sprawls of social decay ? What's that mean ?

Our ghettos. The mean streets. Where all the crime takes place. The seedy underworld of scary people.

Oh. Well poverty has existed for thousands of years, I don't think a single economic system exists that can get rid of it. What can you do about it ?

Nothing, except maybe brainwashing a people into never stepping outside certain boundaries. Using technology to make people compliant is another way. Our minds would be very simple and work related, and we'd never receive too much of a reward for our efforts.

Well that defeats the purpose of democracy I think(It does doesn't it ?). And being able to become successful is a defining feature of our society.

Then the definition of success would have to change. And our ability to achieve goals would be predetermined by a set of mental conditioning procedures throughout childhood. Plus technology would orient the chemical structures in our brains very precisely. Micro chips and other devices embedded in our brains plus good breeding would make this idea of a near perfect society possible, though for me, that isn't perfect, not by a long shot.

People in a world like that would be too stupid to have the concept of fun we do now. They'd obediently conduct their daily routines and feel whatever measure of happiness they are allowed.

That's no fun either. I think life is about enjoying life while you have it, as it can be taken away at any moment by anyone or anything for any reason or none at all. You should do what you enjoy while you have the time(I leik electronics so i want to start a businesses in that field). Plus I hear that those guys (small electronics peoples who own their own businesses) can make up to liek $500,000 a year. That would be pretty sweet.

Exactly. No one wants to be a slave for the rest of their lives, but some people didn't have a choice in ages past. Just imagining a future where a totally unbreakable control turns the populace into a veritable workforce of ants is enough to inspire fierce resentment.

Well for the most part slavery has been abolished. I don't think anything like that will happen tho. Well at least not in my lifetime Tho banning implantable technology into the brain and or spine couldn't hurt, I foresee a day when computers are so small and so powerful and energy efficent, that you could implant one into a brain of someone and it could override their own brain. (leik their motor controls functions). But thats probably won't happen within my lifetime. So its all good. Tho with things like Intels Tick Tock policy its possible.

We could use neural implants for entertainment. Music, movies, games, etc.

Electricity from the brain would suffice, since technology can potentially have that level of efficiency.

I dunno, satelite signals are encoded to prevent people from stealing it, so you need a decoder and stuff, the electricity in the brain is measured in millivolts (millionths of a volt), those thins usually require like 1.1 - 5 volts.
