Nice that Jon Ingoglia and Scott Spaziani have been getting the publicity they deserved!

Care to cite a few of these "legit" sites that show a "ton more anime" with no commercials?

The only ones I have seen that fit those last two characteristics are sites that stream fansubs, which are definitely not legit. The two legit anime streaming sites I know of in the U.S. that come close to CR's library are Funimation and Hulu, and both those sites show ads during the video.

Also, some of the anime on CR is waaaaaay beyond PG13 (close to soft Hentai). Might want to beware of certain anime series.

Try going into your Account Settings/Video Preferences and make certain you have "Hide Mature Content" selected instead of "Show Mature Content", and then see if you can see those "waaaaaay beyond PG13" programs (no doubt Queens Blade is one you had in mind). If your age was entered as under 18, you wouldn't have access to them, regardless of the setting.

i hate to play the devils advocate but the regional licensing restrictions - for example bleach - make me question the worth of my premium membership! CR cannot argue that they r working as fast as they can, when obviously CR bills even faster. Ethics anyone?!

Apart from that CR offers a wide variety of anime (about half r licensing restricted) and a very effective customer motivation strategy. Good Job guys!!!

CR is on the right path!

Cheers

Im not agreeing with you.
Lets take something like cable tv or even satelite channels,
If i pay for a packet of services that include Sky tv, CBS news, Discovery, Disney channel, etc , etc
i expect to be able to see all those channels, if i dont watch the channels its because i choose to do so, its my choice but im still paying for it which means i can see it if i want to.
Funnely enough most of the shows ive mentioned now i can see withouth fearing that the content is blocked due to region licencing even though its produced in USA, because i pay for that services.

Is that same satellite package available to everyone, worldwide? If not, then it is region restricted.

I assume you are not in the United States. If not, how are you certain that the programs you see on Discovery and Disney are all the same ones available to viewers of those channels here? Both those channels own a lot of the content they broadcast, but not all of it. If they don't, they can't broadcast it to a region without having the appropriate licensing from the company that holds the rights to the program, and would substitute something else. We have a few "superstations" here in the U.S., that substitute other programming for their cable and satellite feeds when a license for a program covers only their local market.

I would wager if we compared the lineup of programs on your Discovery and Disney channels to mine here in the U.S., there would be some programs on mine that were missing from yours.

Even more silly is the claim that the companys have to get rigtshs to broadcast that particular show in that or that contry.
I mean its internett, who have put licencing borders whithin the internet? it dosnt exist, unless they resently suddenly decided to include that, and if it does excist, why can i then watch some stuff streamed which i shoudnt be able to see in theory?
For instance streamed cbs news....

CBS news is perhaps one of the worst examples, as I doubt they broadcast any content except their own. They can easily withhold internet streaming rights for their content if they license it for broadcast in other regions.

As a counterpoint, try streaming news or other programming from the BBC (assuming you are outside the UK), and see what you get:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00sy2wl/BBC_News_at_Six_29_06_2010/

The licensing borders don't exist in the internet, they exist in the real world. Broadcast rights are typically sold by region or even country. Video publication rights are the same. Merchandising rights are the same. Even book publication rights are typically licensed by region or country. So naturally, rights for streaming over the internet are the same. That may seem counter-intuitive, but you have a lot of companies that are used to doing things the old way, using mediums where it made sense.

The companies that hold the rights to the programs could simply reserve all streaming rights, but in some cases one country may want them for their region only (e.g., Funimation's video site only streams to the U.S. and Canada), or may not intend to use them, but as part of a package with the broadcast or DVD licensing rights, ties them in to prevent competition.

Which then leads to anothe matter, why should we who don't get all titles, pay as much as those who get all titles?

I've got access to all the titles, since I live in the US. But I watch Durarara, which is finished, Giant Killing, catching up on Blassreiter in the back catalog, and watching House of Five Leaves and the original Soul Society arc of Bleach at Hulu.

So if only 3/5 of my streaming anime comes from CR should I get a 40% discount?

I think the way it works is everyone looks at what is available to them and decide if its worth it to them. For one person, the Naruto Shippuden simulcast may be all they want and everything else is gravy. For someone else, its not worth it if there is no Rainbow and Bridge. And with the two week free trial, people have a chance to try for themselves and see whether what is available is good enough for them.

Unlike the other sites, Crunchyroll has been working on it and expanding the number of countries getting anime - a year ago, Brazil and Chile and the UK were getting blocked over half the time, now they have access to a majority of the content.

Well isn't that great for you? I don't have any of those titles except the Naruto Shippuuden.
I am not even getting half of what you get, and yet I pay full amount. Which is a rip-off. I payed for premium to watch other shows not just main-stream Anime like Naruto Shippuuden.

And if CR has been working on it? Why do I still only have the same titles as March 2009

Have you reported to the technical staff that the Faroe Islands are part of Denmark, but you are not getting the Danish streams? Giant Killing streams to Denmark, Durarara streams to Denmark ... instead of putting a post in this forum, you ought to send an email to the help desk.

I get Durarara, but I don't bother watching Giant Killing from CR. I watch it from fansubbers.

But you seem to be mistaking something here. I am not in CR only for simul-casts, but also for the exclusive titles CR gives out to Premium. Which I LATER found out AFTER I bought it that they don't stream to my region.

CR is definitly one of the best things on the internet.

I hope that with the subscription model you guys can keep on growing and have bigger influence on the parties delivering the content.

I hope one day everybody will be allowed to watch anime on CR.
Keep it up CR!
