I love CR and would neve give up my subscription (even though I get stuck traveling a lot to places with internet connections that are too slow to stream the videos). Completely unbiased though, here are some of both the positive and negative issues and aspects to CR that I've noticed over the years, And to all at CR, thanks for a great service :)

Here are 5 that stand out a lot to me....

1. GOOD: CR offers a great variety of types of shows so that viewers, especially those new to anime, can try many different genres and see what they like.
DOWNSIDE: viewers that know what genres they like and pick out the shows they will watch before the season starts might not see a reason to get a Premium Membership just for 1 or 2 series.

2. GOOD: fast releases of the subbed episodes (simulcasts) of many shows
DOWNSIDE: translation sometimes suffers and isn't always 100% accurate

3. GOOD: available to watch in HD and other resolutions
DOWNSIDE: not everyone has a fast enough internet connection to stream the videos without lags, etc. (sometimes pausing and waiting willl even cause the whole episode to reset) even on lower resolutions.... without the option to download and watch when finished, so to truly maximize CR, you might need to pay for a faster internet connection to maximize CR's service.

4. GOOD: attracting many viewers through popular shows like Bleach and Naruto
DOWNSIDE: most of the shows wind up being aimed at a preteen to young 20's male audience... there winds up beind a lack of more "adult" or non-shounen shows (noitamina-types) (for example this season: shows like Shiki, Togainu no Chi, Bakuman... or for people that are not familiar with these, think of older CR shows like Durarara!! and Occult Academy.

5. GOOD: CR allows people in many regions to legally watch anime and contribute to the industry
DOWNSIDE: now fansubbers are just ripping videos or sub scripts straight off of CR and releasing them on to torrent almost just as quickly as simulcast.... a big temptation for people who are only interested in 1 or 2 shows or can't stream videos in HD (or lower)


Two other random things....

From watching fansubs so long, many people really do miss translations and/or karaoke to the OP and END songs.

Perhaps offering a Pay Per Show option (especially for currently airing shows) would get more subscribers... that way if someone only wants to watch Bleach,, or on the other hand, just wants to watch a show like Tegami Bachi, they don't feel like they are paying as much as people that watch every single release,

to tell the truth i stick to fansubs when viz improves their subs i will begin to pay for crunchyroll

so far its OK could get better

My only wish is that there were some older series and more series up. I want to finish watching K-On but it's not here which annoys me, as well as other series that aren't here.

The sites very simple to use, as well as reliable. That is the main reason i pay for the service.

before,almost a month ago you dont have to wait for CR videos to buff but now they are just like other free video stream site that you need to wait for Cr videos to buff before you can watch the whole video of it.unlike a month or two months before it video streaming is continues and and you dont to wait for it to finish buffering

forums and chatting especially... am not really here to watch anime since almost all of the animes here that I want to watch were licensed due to region restrictions.....
and there are many changes that happened from the time I joined here.... can u make the profile musics available again even if they're not an anime member? and the cr toolbar or something (dunno what it's called)... get it back again, it's easier to find things with that...

I just discovered Crunchy as a private channel on roku-go to the roku site select private channel and type anime to get CR on roku.

So what's with the premium membership i already have netflix @ $7.99,huluplus@$7.99 huluplus has more anime than netflix but not as much as chrunchy and mog @ $4.99 which allows you to listen to all the alblums on their servers.

Having just added CR to my roku it has anime,drama and link roku so is this my 2 week free trial already in progress or what?

I'm surprised CR isn't going with hulu as they already have much more anime than netflix most sub'd some dubbed but some stuff i've never seen outside CR.

Something i like about hulu is they ask which color subs you want white or yellow and i prefer yellow as it's less likely to blend in and stands out better. Great 1st day on Crunchy and if there's a by the year option i'll take that over by the month

Yes, CR has annual subscriptions (that's what I'm on), with a significant discount on the monthly cost. Those who pay monthly for the anime-only membership pay just under $7 per month, while my cost is only $5 per month.

Well I like Crouchyroll but they need to improve their streaming and make Eng dub subs available for ALL titles

not only that but if you compare prices. you will find out that getting the 1- year is $5. per month.
