I LOVE SKIP BEAT! :DD I have all 12 volumes but I still need to buy more~ Right now, where I am they have 24 volumes. At first, I REALLY HATED THE ART, 'cause all the guys have freakishy pointy chens and their all tall yada yada, but I gave it a chance, AND NOW I CRAVE MOREE! xD Lol But yeah, so awesome. And I'm used to the art and now like it! xD SO YEEAH! ^__^ Lol

Well, I've never actually watched Skip Beat. I tried though! But, to tell you the truth, for some reason I can't stand watching possibly embarrassing or actually embarrassing moments happen. It makes me shy and I always look away and cover my ears so I don't know what happens. This made me not watch Skip Beat after the second episode or something, but I'm going to try watching it!

I was reading Skip Beat awhile back right around the anime was released ...and thank goodness i am reading it again.I forgot how i really liked this title.

I am an acting student and there are so many things they touch about acting which is fun to read... and my favorite is character work.Although character work is not easy and fast to do as portrayed in the book but for improv acting you have to get there fast ... but it is still fun read.The process of creating a new character to life is very challenging , once you wear and move that person , it gets really fun.

Anyway The tensions and the conflicts are exciting.

I am a little behind but I am catching up ... woohoo.

I loved what I've read of Skip Beat Got up to volume 13, was getting a bit discouraged because I was having a difficult time finding some volumes..need to get back to it.

I had the same problem too with the art (still do even ha). It kinda drives me crazy and sometimes I really don't like the eyes/faces of the characters. But the story helps ^__^

I think the art improves tremendously over the series. It's gotten quite good recently, IMO especially Ren. He looked kind of strange in the early volumes but now he actually looks like the shojo heartthrob he is supposed to be.

Unfortunately the character designs in the anime tried to mimic the early art and ended up looking even worse then the manga drawings (at least for the guys, somehow Kyoko always looked good). It's odd because it is shojo, so you would think they'd want the guys to look as good as possible. The anime is still great but the art does detract from it for sure.
