i would prefer being tolerant and open minded over super smart.
why always striving for superiority ,ego issues?
how about just trying to be a decent human being?

True smart people are tolerant and open-minded. Ones under the illusion that they're smart aren't.

It's more the culture, not the ethnicity. Education is stricly enforced on Asian countries. They mainly focus on academing things, such as Maths and Science. So the curriculum is practically 80% technical and 20% practical/physical. Whereas in Western countries, to be really honest they have a good balance of practical/physical stuff and academic stuff.

This is just what I've noticed though.

Anyways Philippines "was" even once acknowledged to have the highest Quality of Education with brilliant students until its economic downfall. We should rather look upon economic factors before we decide and conclude matter rather than feeding our personal bias. The poorer the nation the lesser quality of education we can expect. That's all!

Hee~

Did you know that Phil is the 3rd country that has the largest amount of English speakers, just after US and England? 8D

But in the end, those are biased results. One must take many other factors into consideration and not just their IQ level.

You can train your IQ. Those tests are always made the same way. Associating words, mathematical tests, 3D projection ...

You can level up by 20-30 points if you train your brain. You can start by stopping to use a calculator.

That's not true. taking the same tests only helps in your memory ability. While not using the calculator, is a good thing although it would lessen your results in exams

I've always tried not using my calculator in exams even though my course requires me to do so but I still got good results cause I've been used to mathematical computations when I was 4. I tried to measure my IQ at the age of 5 and I discovered it to be a 180 but when I got to high school it lowered significantly to an IQ of 150. so sad

School's and teachers, as well as parents and surroundings affect knowledge. Knowledge affects intelligence indirectly, but surely.

In short, it's because China and Japan have strict schools, strict parents, and the country has high standards.

Sorry, but those numbers are very in-accurate.
India is a lot higher. India has more honor students than America has kids.

Not to mention that 90-80 IQ is low IQ.

International average IQ is around 90-100, where has American has dropped a few points and is around 80-90
Where England and generally Europe is 100-110
Asia being in 110-120 section

that doesnt really add to his IQ at all lol that anyone can be an athiest. seems like you just added that in for no reason.

Ill chalk up the biggest part of IQ to how and where the person was raised cause that just makes more sense also their personality

If you want to point fingers at a quote, i suggest you use the ENTIRE QUOTE. And not use part of it out of context.
The whole thing was about the poster above me mentioning how he thought he had read that jews had the most brilliant minds. I pointed out that Einstein although of jewish origin rejected the faith, so i doubted the jews will really want to count him as one of theirs.

But to comment on your last part since you seem intend to argue this. Sure, anyone can be an atheist. Anyone can be a christian, or a muslim, or a buddhist. But it is no coincidence that the vast majority of our brilliant minds don't believe in the idea of a personal god.

I'd like to see the test data used to come up with these assumptions, particuarly with North korea. A country where less then 10% of it's population has any education at all coming out on top of any other country???? i don't think so.

Intelligence is not so much genetic. Maybe a little but in most cases it has to do with the environment. For example a culture of people who regularly eats seafood and other healthy and organic foods can help influence intelligence. Also eastern school systems are much different from the west, with a different weight on examinations versus general performance. And also perhaps intelligence is more important to people in the east than the west and therefore they are more motivated.
