Well seeing how its to attract the American market it's not unusual for them to "whitewash" the cast. The movie was better than I expected.

Yeah, I just don't understand why Shyamalan wasn't fair with the cast. Even the supporting roles, east asians and native americans had limited screen time. My friend said the movie was boring and 3D was bad.

Surprised you like it, I didn't like it at all. None of the character's personalities really fit from the original animated series. Also, the live action movie seemed to focus on Aang as being the hero, but in the cartoon, Katara was seen as a hero (or heroine) too. For some reason, M Night left out these character's development. The cartoon showed growth, humor, playfulness etc, but the live action didn't deal with any of that. Even Aang doesn't really show the full depth of his character and the casting was generic.

I think its one of those cases where if you never watched or read the original series (which I didnt), then you will like the movie (which I did). I cant wait for the second movie. I thought the crazy fire princess was pretty cool.

I thought the movie was good, aside from dragging a bit, being guilty of trying to cram too much into so little time, and being obviously incomplete since there's supposed to be a sequel.

I had faith in M. Night since he directed the The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. So far, these are the only 2 good movies I liked. When I heard of this movie, The Last Airbender. I had high expectations to see this animated adaptation. Unfortunately, the fans and viewers didn't like it. Plus, I heard bad reviews about it. What happened, M. Night? I had faith in you. Since I'm a Indian, I don't know what to say. I'm disappointed. Seriously, M. Night should make Indian movies rather than Hollywood movies.

The move itself wasn't THAT bad. It's pretty hard to create a movie like this especially when it's based on a cartoon already.

I agree there have been a lot of really bad movies from cartoons, but if you have the right people, it can be successful. I thought the first Ninja Turtles movie was good, and Transformers movies were successful. M Night wasn't the right person for this film, it's not really his style of filmmaking.

Worst ever movie i've ever seen, nothing alike to the actual cartoon, they can't even get the main character 'Aaang' pronounced right. Makes me wonder if any one of the actors, or actresses or director for that matter bother to watch at least one episode.

Even if you are not a fan of the cartoon, don't bother going to watch the movie, for your sake, there are far better ways to spent your money or your time.
