I thought Alois's tragedy didn't really justify the way he acted. I mean Ciel went through something equally traumatizing..he didn't become some silly boy who likes

Just to be sure people understand something about Alois: he uses the rude personal pronoun "Ore" when referring to himself. Also, when Claude was referring to Alois, he said something about him being a shonen, now if Claude were to have said shojo, then there may have been good reason to question whether Alois was a girl or a boy, but since Claude didn't use "shojo" when referring to Alois, there is only one conclusion to be made: Alois is a boy.

Aside from both being British and having butlers and servants? None whatsoever.

I'm kind of confused since in first season Ciel supposedly died. but then he shows up in the 1st episode? I'm just confused on the time setting of the second season. does this occur at the beginning of ciel and sebastian's contract? or after the whole fight thing with the angel in season 1. like maybe sebastian hadnt eaten ciel's soul after all? i don't know.

and this has nothing to do with the topic but i really feel bad for that poor maid

Ciel doesn't speak in the first episode of BBII, in fact, he's not alive in the episode.

people perceive things differently. like someone might scream and run because he/she got bit by a dog, or someone might beat the hell out of that dog.

Just finished watching the first episode. It was really good. I haven't watched the first season so seeing Ciel and Sebastian wasn't as big of a deal for me as it probably should have been. It was really interesting, though. Don't really know what to make of Alois yet, other than him being a bit touched in the head.

I personally think that the key in this question is the timing. Humans need to feel love in their childhood, in order to be able to love someone and to be kind to them. Children that never get to experience this tend to turn out to be abusive and take pleasure from other's suffering. Alois was taken away from his parents as a baby, so he never really got to experience what love is, and that's why he acts as he does, eye-gouging and all. But Ciel, on the other hand, knows what it means to love someone, and to be loved, thus his level of abusiveness is very very far from Alios's.
