Personality is what makes the relationship last, and what really matters in the end. Us young people place value in looks because of peer pressure, and the standards that the media sets. For instance, I'm only 5'4 115 pounds and i get called fat? It's because the other people around me are used to the anorexic models the media forces upon them. It's why many young girls either try to cover them selves up with lots of make-up, or become anorexic because of peer pressure. There are very few people who are truly happy with themselves... That's sad |

There's nothing wrong with being unique, being unique is what I enjoy! I just like to look at other's opinions and draw conclusions from them. In fact, usually I end up forming my own opinions. |

Its not the young that place value in looks.
No It is a natural thing, that is how we evolved as a animal. Birds pick the men with the best looking tail feathers. Or best longest colors. Deer mate with the male who is the strongest. Humans females mate with the best looking person they can find. Their Personality never takes place in who they want to mate with. Only who they want to deal with the rest of their lives once they want to settle down. An even then the girl will give more points in the looks than the personality. |

Young people value their looks because it reflects on how the people in their age treat them.

Because when you're young, there are so many people telling you how you should look. I'm guessing that when you're older or younger, you just don't care as much.

Looks fad even beauty can be ugly if the person is, now matter how beautiful you are or handsome if you act like a butt hole people will see that as well.. Being uneducated faded beauty is ( Hi Mom) you got what you deserved. Is funny when the beauty has gone and your dumb as a stump. When I stared this I really hope you realize having a good education and keep learning even after school is far more important. High school is three years and you may live 90 more years. But it a hard three years still going through puberty and body and minds are changing and appearance will change that not a sure bet.----------------------------------------------What you said is right, and thats is a sad statement. |

I rated your post up as I thoroughly agree on the importance of education or the seeking of knowledge and wisdom. Keeping your mind sharp is of upmost importance especially when looks fade and age sets in and if we don't use our noggin, we tend to forget even more as we aged. Still it will not be fair to blame entirely the young to place great importance on looks when such values were often passed down from old people before them notably their parents or their culture, after all take a look at young teen or little girls beauty pageant where you see the parents pushing their child into such spotlight or to place more importance on looks themselves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir8BO4-7DkM |

So way to go at sexually objectifying little girls at an early age.[/sarcasm] |

its not always about looks its what other people find attractive for example we all know Van Diesel... Right? Well he doesnt exaclty top the pretty scale .... But he does attract people never the less. So I dont think people go on looks but the type of image he might present. In his case it would be sex appeal right? a bad boy kind of image... Who doesnt like a bad boy? So really its all about image not looks. Personally I would want a guy who presents himself as confident and strong; someone to depend on. Don't get me wrong I got plenty of independance.

Romance novels can be fun fantasy to read. That is not the real world, learn to use your mind or depend on using a mattress that up to you. The way of the bed, your, value goes down as you get older, drug low self esteem and worse can happen I have seen it plenty of times. It like young men that neglect there education thing they are going to be sports star . In most case it will not happen for them.:excl: I only read your post, not wasting my time with anyone elses, so yea, i don't this is just a an assumption but maybe, just MAYBE and i'm not too sure on this, but i think it's it because of something science calls... hormones? but then again i could be wrong im not really sure.
