Episode 12. Well Im glad this is over.

I mean I know I shouldnt be taking this series seriously...but it has so many things that just irk me.

1. I expect when the Witches say they dont have magical power left.....I expect them to not somehow regain it miraculously and be able to fight just like they were able to do before.
2. Miyafuji being able to do the True Reppuzan was lame since Sakamoto could never do it and she gets it on her first try. However it was awesome at the same time....but it seems like a big FUCK YOU to Sakamoto
3. So why the hell did the Yamato even stop in the first place? No reason. Just to make the Witches do the work again.
4. Everybody besides the Witches are USELESS!

Anyway I wish they woulda showed something that would give us a hint to if they were going to do a 3rd season or not.

Im giving this series an 8/10. It seemed to me like the biggest appeal for this show was the cuteness.....just like how K-ON is. But unlike K-ON....it tries to give us a story and fighting scenes.....and to me....that wasnt the most appealing thing for me. I just liked the characters personalities and what they did to amuse themselves....and Loli's in underwear is always a plus.

However I have a question. Are all the Neuroi in the world defeated? We didnt see any Neuroi anywhere else.....however there are still other Joint Wings being made so....Im assuming the Neuroi threat isnt over.

Edit: I think I was a little too critical. I loved all the characters and my favorites were Perrine-san and Lucchini-chan. I mean really, when you make an anime about girls flying in the air, shooting guns, showing underwear.......you cant go wrong. This was a really solid series and I do hope for a 3rd season.

And on a COMPLETELY random note. I absolutely cannot believe that Luchinni's voice actor also did Senjougahara in Bakemonogatari.
She is also voicing Miku Sugisaki in mitsudomoe. I love her voice :O

I hope to see more of this lovely, pedophilic series for perverts. It is the best thing to happen for the likes of us.

You think the biggest appeal of this show was cuteness? Just go ahead and say it, man. It's all about the pantsu!

Now that I think about it.....how come the 501st squad had to disband after that Neuroi fight? I mean there was a group that replaced them at there exact location right? I dont see why they did

Actually no. I don't agree with the 'pedophile' and 'pantsu' comments. It's not like I'm 'against' cute nubile females in underwear. It's just the that lack of pants and focus on crotch and butt shots took away from the parts I came to the show for.

I like the stories of young battle maidens working together for a common Cause. That's why Sora no wotto was just as good if not better, half the time the girls were in baggy fatigue uniforms that came close to hiding their gender.

I did like the Mecha Musume meme, that inspired this anime. The idea of dangerous warmachines re-imagined as cute and often sexy girls was appealing.

Likewise I loved that all the girls were based on WWII war aces (except for Lynn. I'm not sure if she's supposed to BE Billy Bishop (a world war 1 ace) or if she's the daughter or younger sister of the girl that is based on the older ace.)

I'd love it if they did make more. We'll have to see about that.

About the episode I hope our heroines find some way to stay in future stories. but I wouldn't mind seeing stories about the 502 or 504. We've already met a much wider cast than just the eleven members of the 501st.

and I would really like to see some closure as to WTF the neuroi ARE. Why they attacked their own forces (in the beginning of second season) and what secret BS the old men behind the scenes are up to.

It'd be nice if it turned out that Miyafuji's father wasn't dead. The idea that Fuso's mail system is THAT fucked up is a little silly.

Based on how they appeared to all come from different locations at the beginning of this series, apparently the 501st was disbanded after the Neuroi in Gallia were defeated. That sets a precedent for them being disbanded again after the Neuroi in Romagna was defeated.

It also makes it easier for characters to pop up elsewhere, should their be future series focusing on other units. I half expected to see Lucchini reporting for a transfer into the 504th at the end of episode 12.

Branching out to other units could turn this from simply a continuing series into a franchise, with all that implies. I support such a move.

Wait, so in the first season when they disbanded....it was because the Neuroi in that area were defeated.....and now since the Neuroi in the 2nd season are defeated....they disband again.....so does that mean they are all just going to go to some other location on the Earth and reassemble there?

Who knows there seemed to be a continuity issue between seasons 1&2, so they could do it again.

If there is anyone reading this that has not yet watched the series, time is running out.

As I suspected, the videos will be removed 30 days after the airing of the final episode.

I expect this will be less of an issue for those in the U.S. and Canada, as Funimation had already licensed the series, including streaming rights, and it episodes will likely start appearing at their site soon after they disappear here.

That does not appear to be true of their streaming episodes.
