Yeah because without invisible magical Space Man, there can not be life. Who gives a damn how illogical that is being we see and know how planets and stars are made, we also have a really good Idea backed with evidence on how life got started.. But no all that is just Lies because the imaginary Magical space man is real...! Evin if there is no evidence for him, and evidence that shows the bible is nothing more than bits a pieces taken from other religions. O an do not forget that world is flat and the sun goes around earth.

Then I'll just do good because I want to. Not that an afterlife of heaven nor hell has anything to do with my decision making in the first place, when I'm simply spiritual but not religious. After all life is much more enjoyable in the company of others.

Life after death don't just happen to people who does good things in the past.
For me people [ especially Christians ] only do good things for the sake of staying in heaven when they die.
The idea of living in a scorching hot chamber - Hell, frightens them.

No offense -

i don't know if i believe in heaven or hell. To me that doen't matter because i think everyone has good and bad in them and don't see they are different enought to be seperated to go into a heaven or hell, but i try do to do what i think is right anyway. I know ppl who keep believing they are going to heaven and don't seem happy right now because they are doing good but hating the world because of its fallacies, only living for heaven. I think they are missing out.

No one goes to hell....Everyone is just serving there purpose....Lain out by whom ever and they do so not by choice...If all the studies looking into... say that it can be predetermined that a child will be a serial killer then maybe their fate was written before hand and is being played out just as planned...

My answer could be really long and complicated, but I'll only state the basics. Being good doesn't necessarily mean you're going to heaven. (here's where I get in hot water) If you have a personal relationship with God, then you are going to heaven. Doing good things is just extra; it's not any kind of proof of your final destination.

At the end of life's road, which way will YOU go?

While I do not disagree that there are some people who do well to reap up rewards, most major religion, while they do advocate good behaviour, have no fixed punishment for it:

One- While most Christians believe in heaven or hell, the current theories goes as follows-
i. God chooses who will go and not go to heaven already- or- predestinationism.
ii. We are all saved by God's grace, and it is only the power of the Holy Spirit that makes us do good, Sola Gratia
iii. We are save solely by Faith, and Good deeds play no part in it, or Sola Fata.

Two- Most Jews, while they believe that God rewards the good, have no definite dogma on the afterlife- indeed some Traditional Jews believe in reincarnation of every Jewish soul because 'All Jews were present when Moses was given the Law.'

Three- Buddhist believe that only selfless dedication to doing good and devotion to attaining enlightenment would break one out of the path of endless reincarnation.

In all the above cases, it doesn't pay very well to do good, but many people within those tribes do good any ways. While I am not saying only from those tribes, after all there are good people everywhere, I am only using them as an example.

What benefit is there in doing good? I think that primary reason to do good is this: either they truly and geniunely believe that we should all help our fellow man for the sake of helping, or, more probably, it makes us feel better about ourselves once we do good for other. When giving alms to the poor, you feel like you have done something awesomely great- not saying you shouldn't, because did do so, but your ego becomes inflated and you feel smug and happy. This selfish desire to feel like a great chap, big hearted and what-not, is probably the primary motivator of doing good deeds for most people.
