Main Story: Ryner Lute is a lazy student of the Roland Empire Royal Magician's Academy. One day, the Roland Empire goes to war against their neighboring country Estaboole, and Ryner loses his classmates in the war. After the war, Ryner sets out on a journey to search the relics of a "Legendary Hero" at Emperor Sion Astal's command and finds out that a deadly curse is spreading throughout the continent. As for my impression of the first episode, I found the main male character to my liking (A fun character who is not some Emo or loser who wants everyone to accept him or praise him.) The main female character is the strong type, who more bad ass than most of the males.. 'She is a little to violent for my taste, but all in all a character I can enjoy nonetheless. The Hero / king Seems nice. To nice it leads me to think he might become evil because of circumstances. Other characters, I will refrain speaking of till I watch the 2nd episode.. That I happen to be getting into as soon as I finish this post up. 'As for the animation, I Love how they set up the magic, And the quick pace in the sword and magic fights suet my taste well.' |

'I am thinking we are the only ones to have seen it... LOL.
Well episode two was just a flash back, so we get to see that the characters indeed know each other. White hair guy known as a hero look evil as a young man if you ask me. (one more thing... Poor Puppy Dog.) On another Note The blond and the mage have not changed at all. |

Finally, someone made a thread for it!
Fukuyama Jun as another powerful but lazy character. (after Lelouch in Code Geass) And Takagaki Ayahi is one of my favorites! <3 Character design is gorgeous. Seems to have a solid story so far, especially apparent in episode two. With episode one, I was worried that the pretty visuals and the Slayers-esque settings were all there was to it. But episode two showed there's actually a fascinating story that connects all the characters. Although the various flashbacks in episode one already indicated such. The OP and ED songs are nice too. (already have them downloaded. ) ![]() This series did not disappoint at all! Definitely on my watchlist. Whee! |

You were exactly spot on with my impression aswell, its a nice change from the alot of the anime characters that are being churned out these days, yet i agree with that woman being abit over violent

'Episode 3.... Ok.. Do not Piss off the mage with the odd eyes. He might be carefree type, but once he is pissed off he owns everyone. He take down a entire army wile doing a crazy laugh.

Yes I really like this anime, it has a deep plot line, and a good story. On top of that the fights are short and fast paced what makes it good.
I fear most kids will not like the anime because it has a deep underlining story/message about the military. An we know kids like brain numbing shallow plot lines, and fights that last 3 to 4 episodes. Other wise why else would Naruto, and Bleach be so popular. |

Episode 5.. was a little slower than the other 4.
I felt bad that the nice guy who got his sister back ended up killed. Whats the king going to do about the death of one of his friends. |

Whats the king going to do about the death of one of his friends. I think he's just gonna suck it up and wait for an opportunity to kill those aristocrats. But he might never be able to, because it looks like he might go against his peaceful ideals somewhere down the road. That Kanda Yuu lookalike who offered to do Sion's dirty deeds is definitely bad news. |
