messy for the win. yea i keep important things clean. but overall my room messy but it show you what type person i am. some one who can sleep on what ever with no problem. i not lazy and i will clean my room when it reaches critical mess like dust every where floor covered in dust but i keep stuff like my desk messy and i love my bed not being made because it looks nicer that way

messy rooms can be a threat to your health cause it attracts more harmful bacteria & bugs/insects! u may one day also tripped over something & fall down! so better clean up your room & maintain it clean & tidy if u wanna live longer!

no, a messy room just means you're a messing person. A clean room can have character too

if you are trying to run this as a potential excuse then, no, this is not going to work on your parents. they will always, without exception, find something to say back.

regardless, maintaining a clean room isn't so much an important result for you now as it will be later in life. can you imagine when, you're living on your own as a young professional, one night you decide to take a cute woman you met at a bar back to your place, but OH NO you can't because your room looks like it was when you were still a teenager, since you never learned the self-discipline to tidy your room every so often? by making you keep a tidy room, your parents are hoping you will get into the habit of doing it so potential mistakes like this example will not occur. think of it like they are giving you a helping hand...

Well that's my excuse.

My room gets messy over about 2 weeks then I wait a next two weeks to clean it.....repeat xD

To me, a clean room does represents character. It shows that you care enough to pick up after yourself & organize your things and etc. Seriously, would you bring your guests or someone you like to your room that's dirty & smells and probably has an insect population in there? Those who say messy rooms are better just likes being a messy person IMO.

It depends on what's lying around. Books, CDs and stuff like that is fine. All dirty laundry should be hidden away though, cuz when it's lying all over the room that's just gross.
