lol English is not a hard language to learn.. only americans think it is .. spanish is hard cause people learn pronunciation and stuff and they think they can speak it and they cant even have a conversation with me.. even when they are in 4X which is basicly like the hardest class and its at college level and i havent even mentioned grammar.

English is not hard.. [ felt like i needed to say it one more time ]

Portuguese its easy if u can speak Spanish fluently ... and id say Egyptian would be the hardest language in the world.

This is a rather broad and quite personal-specific question. It would all depend on what a person's first language was and where they are currently living. If a person grew up speaking Chinese, they would find Chinese easy to learn and be able to pick up on most other Asian languages. If a person grew up speaking English, they'd be more drawn to the Germanic languages. If a person spoke Spanish, romance languages would be easier, etc. etc.

Also, all languages could be quite easy to learn if you live in an area where you would have to study and use it a lot to survive. Like where I am, there are mostly Japanese, so I practice my Japanese a lot with them. I would rather learn Khmer, and have been studying it, and it is theoretically far far easier than Japanese, (Though that could be just my own opinion since it is close to Thai, which is one of my languages), but because I use Japanese more, Japanese is easier for me.

So there is no real universal answer for the question, just depends on the individual.

But, I suppose for my personal self, easiest languages would be Thai/Lao/Chinese/Khmer/Vietnamese and Spanish/Itallian/Portuguese/Romance languages

And hardest would be HMONG, Korean, African languages

English, Japanese, Hindi, and middle eastern languages somewhere in the middle

i don't know why people are saying korean is hard, i mean i'm teaching it to myself now and i'm actually learning how to read. arabic is not hard too ( though i don't understand it and speak it) well maybe because most somalis know arabic. english is easy to me, well i grew up with it so obviously it's easy to me.

Hardest to write is arabic, hardest to pronounce is arabic, hardest to have grammar is japanese....uh yea. (not counting indi language farsi...african all that stuff. QQ)

french is easy to speak / to write
about japanese yeah i'm with ya
but arabic is soooooooooooo easy or maybe is just because i learned it when i was kid ummmmm who knows
but i think the easiest one is english
i just learnt it 2 years ago and i'm great at it LOL

What I meant was is it is hard to learn French...prove me wrong by speaking it and telling me its easy. :P

Japanese is so-so and Arabic is sort of hard for me because my parents taught me English first. QQ

Lithuanian is the hardest language to learn. It's my native language but I still don't have all the aspects of it understood. I actually find other languages a lot easyer to learn. My foreign language marks were allways better then native language(Lithuanian).
The easyest are English and German.
