For example, if a guy planted 3 bombs in places filled with people and if it goes off will kill an estimation of 3 million people. Should you be allowed to torture the person and if he doesn't give in will you torture his wife and kids in front of him to make him confess and the deadline is only one day away. And so far no one has located the bomb.

Using torture is never justified. No matter what crime the person has committed.

Also, torturing the person's wife and kids is just ridiculous. Why torture them when they haven't committed anything?

I would go through a whole history of the use of torture and all, but here is not the place to do that.

I was just wondering because I watched a movie, I forgot the title and the whole plot of the movie is whether or not torturing criminals is legal or not.

And mods I dont understand why this would be wrong to post about? Is it wrong to find what people see justice as in this world? Doing it and wondering what people would do in a situation like this is a completely different thing.

Torturing the criminal is fine in my opinion (I actually think it'd be easier to just kill them as soon as they're proven guilty). But they should be 100% positive that he/she has committed the crime. Torturing his/her family is not okay if they're innocent people.
