You probably won't get a good review per se. It's not "good", more sort of incredibly fun to watch and chock full of cheesy dialogue, With awesome music and a generally likeable cast. You don't need to watch the original Aquarion, I haven't and i've heard it's not very good anyway (apart from the music). You don't need to know anything about the original but it'll make a few things slightly more predictable before they just outright tell you.

tl;dr it's fun - there's only like 3 of us here watching it as well.
