How is GIRLS und PANZER compared to Strike Witches? Same setting but with tanks and pants?

What I do know is that a friend of mine tried to watch Skygirls and he couldn't take it. Said it was too lacking in both action and plot. And that guy is a HUGE Strike Witches fan, so for him to say that, I believe it's serious business. About (Loli und Pantsu) Girls und Panzer, I find that it has a satifactory amount of action (as every single episode has had at least one scene with the tanks) and enough plot to keep me interested.
