As much as I hate to incite fans, Kirito in the end is somewhat of a Gary Stu. He has some development at first, he has, overall, no development. Touma, however, got development in the first arc and then, every Volume where he played a large enough role after Volume 19 (with small dots of it throughout). In my opinion, all of the development he has had (I'm not gonna detail it) has been what makes him such and exceptional character. I really don't need to talk about Accelerator...
