SHINOBI-03 wrote: Right on the Childhood!! Lies... ALL LIES...!! IT'S A MOVIE! IT'S NOT CANON! RIGHT?! RIGHT?! right?! I typed this out, but I see hiss13 & polemarch responded with the short version as well. No, they're not brother and sister. We've seen both Jessie/Kojiro's mom as well as James/Musashi's parents in the show. In the movie here, they're saying they have a sort of big brother/big sister relationship with Ash/Satoshi & crew. In Japanese culture, onii (-san, -chan, -sama, or any of the others) refers to an older male you have some familiarity with. Got an uncle in his 20s? He's an onii-san. The feminine of onee works the same way. That neighbor lady who's just turned 30? She'll reprimand you if you call her an obaa-san, and she'll want you to call her an onee-chan or an ojo-chan. Eutus in Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi kept on reprimanding Sasshi to call him "big bro" not "old man." I've seen a few other similar situations in other anime, both subbed and dubbed, but none others are coming to mind right now. If you watched the dub of the movie, Meowth/Nyarth addressed this... if you want to watch some internet-famous Pokémon fans review it, go here: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/ir/suede/animenia/34756-animenia-pokemon-the-first-movie JewWario, Linkara, and ThatGuyInTheSuede (or just Suede), are good reviewers and cover a lot of the issues brought up by the English dub changes from the Japanese original including SEVERAL missing scenes... So basically, Musashi and Kojiro are 15 or 16 and have dated, it didn't last, but they're still friends according to the dub of the first movie. Don't let others try and rationalize them being older, several anime have proven breasts like hers at 15 is the norm for non-lolis, or they're thinking of now since the series has ran for quite some time, especially since the first movie aired in Japan in 1998 and in the US in 1999. The real "no, it can't be true, can it?" involving James is his inflatable breasts, and yes, it's true. *reads more of the thread* Crap... lolicon-icon chimed in as well? ... and I'm caught up, with no other post really catching my eye. And we still have the conversion hits contest going on? Fight on, mot makers. Conversion hit: 2 |
