If a female is suited for the job then I don't see why not. RIP- Benazir Bhutto

Yeah, it is pretty sad what happened to Bhutto, but that was to be expected. Nothing against Muslim states, but a woman just has nothing to say there (not in every Muslim state, but most). Even though she has been twice the Prime Minister of Pakistan. I don't know if I can let the third time count, cuz it was kinda short <.<
The good politicians that have good intentions, seem always to die in a bizarre way or get expelled.....

Flo~

No it wasn't sad-what happened to Bhutto...from some reports she stole over 1.5 billion dollars while running her corrupt government (wikipedia)

Musharraf, who is just as corrupt as she was, did not make up those charges-She was no saint and Pakistan is no better or worst without her and anyways her exile was self-imposed (take your stolen money and run mentality) and she shouldn't have come back unless she just wanted to steal more money

When considering how poor the people are in that country no tears are lost for that hypocrite-she claims shes for more rights for women but those 2 terms that she was prime minister of Pakistan she did nothing for them-shes better off dead and an example of a horrible female leader

i agree with the other who nsay it doesn't matter about sex. that which defines a good leader lies firmly atop one's shoulders, not between the legs. =]

u know what I agree with u,,,becoz she said "well I know i will be killed if i went back to my country, but I have to"

I mean all of us knew she will be killed if she return to her country...and that is what heppened....

I hope Musharraf will follow here,,,although i wanted him to go first....

well...history shows that women leaders can be good or corrupt just like men, so sex shouldn't be an issue.

Women seem to be more aggresive, considering past experiences....

To me, gender doesn't really matter, it's more about how well someone can do their job. I actually could care less about politics, but I think that goes for everything

the sex of the person shouldn't even be considered.

I think more women should get involved in politics especially in the UK where it seems that if you're over 50, are a graduate from Oxbridge and have a penis means guaranteed seat in Parliament. (This goes especially for the Tories.)

We need more women in the Commons not through any government schemes that try to promote equal opportunites or to make representation more reflective of the population, but through the fact that they've earned themselves that place. Those Etonites and alpha males in both Houses need a severe ego deflation. They are all far too sexist.

Although people like Wendy Alexander haven't exactly helped the cause of women in politics...>_>

Although I don't think that there is anything inherently wrong with women leaders, I don't think that our culture (American) has evolved to the point where the general population especially the male component is willing to accept the fact that they are governed and overuled by a woman. I'm not going so far as to say that this applies to everyone, but just to point out that this is one of the flaws of our society right now. And for example, although Pakistan is a "bit" different from America, part of the reason that Bhutto was assasinated was because people didn't want a women leader, albiet for partly religious reasons. But in other area's like India, the president who is a woman, Sonia, is having trouble maintaining public support partly because of this.
