It's called Japanese Pop Culture

Theres a difference between saying your Japanese and embracing Japanese Pop Culture
It doesn't mean you have Japanese blood or you lived there at all
There is nothing wrong with it.

If you are Japanese and you are sick of people copying the popular culture
Then shame on you for not showing enough pride in your own country compared to anime fans

It's like saying I love Italian food, and pronouncing pizza or spaghetti wrong
Al lot of people do

Caring / Nurture my ass

When mothers are dumping their newborns in trash cans so they can go fuck some guy.

Death is the only solution for that. Live dismemberment or decapitation sounds good.

It's the fact of human individuality based on interpersonal differences, that national and political ideologies, nor ethnic ideology could ever change. Yet more often than ever, I've seen in-group relationship based on loyalty and conformation to the group norm violates individual personal conviction, aka the Lucifer Effect.

I'm too lazy to watch that.

Furthermore, when figures of authority abused their power and influence over the society for personal gain, their actions can cause harmful effects on the quality of life for those who are at the bottom of the society as a whole.

Well no shit, that's nothing new. Only been happening for the last 10,000 years lol.
OBJECTION Whiplashing!

What's male masculinity/bigotry within the patriarchy/sexist society. I rest my case.

What is it with this hyphenated culture, I am second generation Scott but I do not go telling that to people or correcting them nor would I put whatever flag they got. Dom Fortress you’re sharp until you get to this stuff. If you were born in Canada your Canadian like it or not, if you were not born there and do not like it go someplace else. Poor me I came from a conquered people them not one that I can think off that not had it but kicked at one time or another. Grow up you come from a crappy back ground fight to change yourself or be a victim all your miserable life. If you think people treat you differently because of ethnicity look hard at yourself and stop judge other through what you have been told or experience. Because you set this expectation you will prove yourself right of rejections that what will happen.

Actually Tara we view it in Canada as: if you've got the passport/sworn the oath/gotten a bye because you were born here -- you're Canadian.

Period. Beyond skipping the Oath to the Queen (I took it anyway when I joined the Militia) there's no special priviledges for being born here. You can hold the highest office in the land as a naturalised Canadian Citizen, unlike the US.

You've got to be kidding me. Liking Japanese pop culture IS NOT AT ALL THE SAME as liking Japanese culture or the people. Pop culture =/= the culture itself. There are lots of people that like Hip-Hop but can't stand non-white/non-asian people. What's even funnier is that most diehard American Otaku often know jackshit about Japanese history.

A queen (or king) is, under a constitutional monarchy, basically a kind of living flag. You can wear several crowns. Ergo. Queen Elizabeth II of England IS, yes, the queen of England, But she is also under a separate crown, the Queen of Canada in her own right. It's just like you can be president of your local <insert social club here> and Secretary of <insert a different club here>

We are our own nation. The Prime Minister is head of Government, the queen, through her representative (selected by us) The Governor General, is our head of State.

Here is everything you need to know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi1yhp-_x7A

Re Mexicans: The word is already out, there's plenty here. but they're mostly legal.

I thought there was something odd in that logic, but I was so overwhelmed by my own thesis at that time, I didn't analyzed it quite thoroughly as I used to.

I mean nowadays if you wanna know about a nation's ethnic values, you can just look up how the legislation on women rights in that nation's like. Whereas pop-culture OTOH had been marketed and marginalized by the entertainment industry to the point of superficial eye candy, one wouldn't have guess that Japan is a nation that legitimately discriminates female rape victims via a gender bias belief know as rape myth. The latest Japanese pron industry success and a history of sex trafficking notwithstanding.

I dont really understand weeaboos... i know a couple and they're alright, but sometimes they go a little too far with their obsessions. It's okay to be unique, like anime and stuff, its just that I think many of these people take it a little too far. When you abandon reality in favor of your anime and manga (etc.), that's when I think you've really gone too far. Japan is indeed, a different country than most weeaboos think of it as, not everyone there is interested in anime and stuff. Many weeaboos, when thinking of Japan, just think of anime and what they've seen of Japan through anime, they arent looking at the real thing, and dont recognize Japan for what it really is, and thus fantasize about it...

And, if you don't mind me asking, what's with the obsessions with Asian girls? I've been seeing it more and more and it's starting to bother me...

It is a bit creepy when people think they can possibly win over an Asian woman just because they know a few things about her culture. They might have some preconceived notions about people from a particular place, when really it is best to be yourself and not pretend to be something you're not.

Personally speaking, I think it's a sociological process known as "in-group conformity". And when you apply that along with their obsession and fantasy over Japanese pop-culture, it's not hard to see how that can form what's known as "positive stereotyping". Keep in mind that I don't mean "positive" as anything good or true in that matter, when stereotyping of any sort is still only a partial and thereby biased view of reality.
