*le sigh* Onemanga.com has announced that, this is it's last week.

I do hope that the manga companies realize that doing something like this, will be a HUGE blow to them. I get, removing licensed manga, but removing ones that aren't.. stupid. Are they planning to licensed ALL manga? No, I don't think so..

Yes, yes, I also get that the manga-ka's themselves want scans to end because it's not fair to them. However! People, like me, who absolutely stink at learning how to read their language, have no reason.. what-so-ever to buy their mangas. If it's scanned, I read it, like it, and hope (and beg) that'll be licensed so I can buy it.

I've tried to buy manga, from reading just the plot summaries they (Del-rey, Shojo Beat, Shounen Jump...etc) have and well.. I've done it four times and ALL four times I have HATED the manga they have and am GREATLY annoyed that I wasted my precious money on such pointless, useless, gobble-de-gook. The scans have helped me see if I want the series or not. But, I do realize that the manga companies could careless because, me buying the crap manga's, is still money in their pockets. Also, I just want to point out (lol). Sometimes their summaries are so corny and horrible sounding that it makes me cringe and over-look some pretty good series. La Corda d'Oro, Maid-sama!, Happy Cafe, and OHSHC have me face-palming and embarrassed that I even looked at the summary.

Anyway, it's irritating, but it's happening. My main concern is.. what about the manga that have not been licensed and that I adore? 1/2 Prince, Karneval, Giant Killing, Barajou no Kiss, Nurarihyon no Mago, Ao no Exorcist, Gokusen ..etc. I'm never going to be able to read them again and the manga companies don't care. *2nd le sigh* See, they don't get it, that's how we can tell them what manga to bring over and license!!!!

Oh, well. Nothing I can do about it. If they wish to be stupid, so be it.

My List: of manga that will, probably, never get licensed.
1/2 Prince
Ao no Exorcist
Giant Killing
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Ashita no Ousama
Barajou no Kiss
Karneval
Kingyo Sou
Nadeshiko Club
Otokomae Beas Club
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo
You're My Girlfriend
Boku wa kisu de Uso wo
Gokusen
Eikaiwa School Wars
Nurarihyon no Mago
Kirameki Gingachou Shoutengai
Tonari no Megane-kun
Nousatsu Rock Shounen
Seirei Produce
Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu
Fuan no Tane
Doublets
Crimsom Empire
Matsuri Special
Nanaco Robin
S.L.H. - Stray Love Hearts!
Maimiko Touko no Jikenbo

And that is only a small list.

they are only taking down the sites that put them online, but not the scanlation groups, so you can always just go to your favorite scanlation group and download it.

i think they just did this too soon, if they made sure they had a onemanga like site for the manga's they do have licenced, and had a site like crunchyroll take care of the rest by maybe paying the manga magazines corps a fee or something so they could host fan scanlations legally and have the authors getting at least a little cut of that, and of course have onemanga mention that on the announcement then the fallout from all this wouldn't be so bad i think, though what the hell do i know

Considering that the 1/2 Prince scanulations have the artist and author's permission, you should still be able to get it from the odd squad website, or you can just read the translated novels on the prince revolution website.

As far as everything else, who knows maybe crunchyroll can give us a legal place for manga (and license new series's for us).

I think it is Bull! I understand removing lisenced manga, but why do we have to get rid of manga that are not lisenced? Plus I hate the translations of all Viz Media's manga because they take out all of the honorifics and try to make it more american...

I was just on the site like four hours ago and then when I went back on I got that homepage notice. I was so sad when I read it because OneManga been around a long time for me. That's the only site I read manga from because it's efficient. Now I'm going to have to find a new site.

I saw the message on the site, I was so depressed. :/

The translations are always so slow and are never as good. I mean they translate the most simple sentences into bullcrap no one onderstands. And they leave out important stuff. And they translate the names oddly. Like it's so *weird*. Del Ray's OK, and Tokyopop/Viz like meh but the scantalations are so much better imo. :/

EDIT: Nevermind. I gave it some actual thought after reading a thread, and it's not really fair to the publishers to buy these costly licenses and then not have us buy any. So I'll go and buy my manga legit, but I'll lay off manga until the publishers catch up in years.

All I can say is good maybe some legal alternative can be worked out but the amount of piracy going on is sickening.
