This is probably do to Funimation having its own manga site where you have to pay to read manga online now

What? FUNimation doesn't have a site where you can read manga... FUNimation is a Anime company. They license and distribute Anime in America. FUNimation has nothing to do with the Manga Industry. This is all between The Manga company's in America and the Manga company's in Japan working together.

Sorry I meant square enix

Oh, that. Well, Square Enix just decided to do that.

The U.S. and Japanese publishers' coalition was announced on June 8. At the time, the coalition — which includes Vertical Inc., Viz Media, Tokyopop, and Yen Press, as well as members of Japan's Digital Comic Association such as Kodansha, Shogakukan, and Shueisha — announced that it was considering legal action against 30 unnamed scanlation aggregators.

I can't see OneManga.com couldn't been on their list to take legal actions against.

Oh I thought that might have been the reason.

Are they going to take down their sister site as well?? You know 1000manga.com where they keep all the mature manga? Thats where they have kyou koi T_T

WTH IS THE MATTER WITH U????!!!!!!!!
Who gives a rats ass about damn piracy? Its free manga. Thats all there is to it.
Man u sicken me. Cha

That's pretty damn heartless... I wonder how you would feel if you created a series that was so popular, but, soon people started posting your series online where others would read it and wouldn't even buy the official release. Not everything is FREE in this world. It's not justifiable by reading manga online without even supporting the series.

Yes, that's also being closed. Someone in the ANN (AnimeNewsNetwork) forums already confirmed it for us. He/She said it was confirmed in the OneManga forums. I'm guessing that's another series not licensed here in American. :S

Ah. That's where some fans fail. They start freaking out when OneManga is gone but, they can simply go to another manga site OR go to the translators site and download the chapters (going to the translators site aren't hard at all). Since I can't read no more Detective Conan (Case Closed) manga online at OneManga, I think I'll just buy the books out of Borders when I get the money. I might also wait for the official chapter for Naruto but Viz really need to do a Bleach speed-up because were too far behind the Japanese release. =/

Okay, so I haven't read all of the posts on this particular topic but it is announced that CR will be getting I think around $75,000 to do a manga section that is similar to how it is for the anime. The details are supposed to be announced at ComicCon this weekend. For the people who are saying that there are other sites those are going to be next i hope you know including the scanlators. The U.S. government and Japanese government got together to talk about piracy of movies, music and other such things and decided they were being to lenient with it. They've also been cracking down on sites like Pirate Bay and LimeWire so manga isn't the first. It was bad enough a few weeks ago with the manga being taken down for being supposedly 'child pornography' and now it's come to this. This will probably be the end of free scanlations and I for one am still extremely sad that OneManga will be leaving. It was useful for the random manga that just aren't gonna make it here. Sure, i buy my manga and anime if it does ever make it here but there are ones that won't or will be years or months behind. I go to conventions and and support the authors as best I can but not everyone does sadly. T.T I've been with them for at least four years and don't know what I'm gonna do. It's always been there. If CR is going to do something similar I think it could help if they can get the same titles that are going to be gone. I know the mature still probably won't make it but it could help right?

Here are some links to where I found my info.

I must say that I'm disappointed, but I'll get over it. I understand the whys into the matter and the result was inevitable. They'll never stop scanilations, but they can keep it from being easily accessible... until legal means comes around. We'll see how the upcoming Open Manga site turns out.
