Yep! I have a whole long list of manga that I know are never going to be licensed, because they aren't as popular as others. So, annoying. *le sigh*

*nods* See, I wouldn't be so upset about this, if they decided to licensed ALL manga. But, they aren't and never will. Also, some of the manga they license is pure crap. Peppermint (TokyoPop) is one of the MOST HORRIBLE manhua I have ever had the displeasure to buy and read. Heaven's Will (Shoujo Beat) is another horrible manga. I, honestly, can't see anyone who would like either. I mean, I've never heard of either until they advertised them and.. *deep sigh*

Whatever.

I just hope that they are prepared for TONS of requests and if they don't follow those requests, they're going to be losing a lot of business.

To the "I'm glad there will be no more piracy" people: I get it, I do. But, as I explained again and again, onemanga.com made it so I could LOOK over the manga and decided if I wanted it or not. The "previews" for the manga, that most of the sites offer, do not.. I repeat, do not help me to see if I want it or not. They don't offer a full chapter, only a few pages, and that won't be enough for me.. ever. I mean, the manga could be nice looking and funny in those few pages, but when I buy it.. it's crap. And I don't want to waste my precious money on crap. Also, I get some manga sites, like Viz Media (SJ) have SOME manga chapters out online and that's awesome. That is how I determined if I wanted Rin-ne or not (I did, so I bought it). Do you get it? I got to look it over and decide. If the manga companies do it this way... I'm perfectly happy with it.

A.N.D, as for the manga that are licensed and on sites like OM, I get that they should not be on there... OR (alternative) they should just have a few chapters to show how awesome (or not) they are and tell people that the series is licensed by so-and-so and tell them where they can BUY the manga if they wish to read more. *nudge, nudge* That would work! Lol.

And last, but not least~! Here are some companies you lot should bother and bother and bother and bother about licensing the manga you want. TokyoPop, Del-Rey, YenPress, Shojo Beat, SJ, Dark Horse, UDON Entertainment Corporation, Digital Manga Publishing, and Viz Media. Go, bother them! Request, Request, Demand, Request, Bother, and tell them, that if they don't license the manga you want, you will Never, EVER, buy from them again! Make sure you have long freakin' lists of manga you want, okay?

There, I feel better..lol. I got to vent some.

Not being able to read manga is seriously going to suck.

I don't know who all scans the numerous mangas I follow.I mean yeah I remember a few but most are a mystery to me.

Plus the fact I mostly prefer the more non mainstream (other than Bleach and Naruto) mangas and the fact the neighboring city doesn't even have a bookstore.

Amazon doesn't carry 95% of the manga I read and after checking manga selling sites, I'm still only able to purchase about 10% of the mangas I regularly read.

So my manga reading will be coming to an end thanks to this utter BS.

You publishers want us to buy your manga? Fine. Make it so we can buy your manga!

If we aren't even able to purchase it, why are you getting so pissy in the first place?

They're are too many mangas for them to translate all of them....for some not enough people would read and the publisher would lose money. with one manga we get manga and they get some money and don't do anything that's a waist of time..

Any place where I can request and demand for mangas?

meh I read all my manga there, but I'll be downloading my favorite series from now on or going to smaller more obscure sites so I don't really care. Manga pirating will never go away, but it will decrease greatly if they could:

1. Start by closing in the huge gap between the Japanese and American releases seriously Reborn is on volume 15 while the Japanese version is at volume 30.

2.The American companies should release 2 volumes per season instead of 1.

3.stop beating around the bush with scanlation websites cause as they always say kill one and thousands more pop up and instead work harder to compete with them

4.If an company goes out of business and another one picks up the title from the previous licensee do not start over at volume freaking 1( thus creating a bigger gap) if you are going to do that at least release the latest volume that the other company didn't get to along with volume 1.

5. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/press-release/2010-07-02/crunchyroll-bitway-announce-digital-initiative
if Crunchyroll also decides to host manga like it says in the article above I hope they treat it like their anime/drama simulcasts like with the whole available for paying member as soon as it comes out and is free for everyone a week or more later with ad support. Also this OpenManga thats going to be opening up soon has some series for free with ad support.

6. Goes with #5 if you are going to make legal options for people to read manga online try to make it available to many regions outside of the US as possible.

Overall I barely buy manga since the small amount of money I have either goes to Crunchyroll or anime boxsets. Only manga I have on my to buy list atm is Maximum Ride GN 3.

This is a gutsy move by the manga companies i must say, i live in the uk and i'm lucky if i can get copies of any of the less popular manga i read. The time between release date in japan and uk are outrageous i'll probably have to wait a year or so til i can read from where i am from reading online, so how are they losing money if i can't even BUY the manga?! ok, yes there's importing, but the shipping can be expensive and half the stuff over in the U.S. the sites wont ship overseas...

One of japans charms is the self enclosed existance their country chooses to maintain, but when it comes to getting stuff outside japan that originated there it just becomes an agitation.

I would love cruchyroll or a similar site to present a legal option to viewing manga online i'd happily pay double my current subscription or more to be able to do it on Crunchyroll just because they are a trustworthy site, and it's not like it would be too hard to secure a group of translators, hell most of the groups that translate these manga would be elated to help out for nothing i'd bet, i.e. i eat manga, Binktopia, and so on.

Come on Crunchyroll stick up for us little guys caught in the middle of this s*&% storm,

I agree I wouldn't mind shelling out a few more dollars for an anime/manga subscription especially if they get their hands on 07 Ghost, +C Sword and Cornett, Highschool of the Dead, Kuroshitsuji, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Gantz.

*le sigh* Onemanga.com has announced that, this is it's last week.

I do hope that the manga companies realize that doing something like this, will be a HUGE blow to them. I get, removing licensed manga, but removing ones that aren't.. stupid. Are they planning to licensed ALL manga? No, I don't think so..

Yes, yes, I also get that the manga-ka's themselves want scans to end because it's not fair to them. However! People, like me, who absolutely stink at learning how to read their language, have no reason.. what-so-ever to buy their mangas. If it's scanned, I read it, like it, and hope (and beg) that'll be licensed so I can buy it.

I've tried to buy manga, from reading just the plot summaries they (Del-rey, Shojo Beat, Shounen Jump...etc) have and well.. I've done it four times and ALL four times I have HATED the manga they have and am GREATLY annoyed that I wasted my precious money on such pointless, useless, gobble-de-gook. The scans have helped me see if I want the series or not. But, I do realize that the manga companies could careless because, me buying the crap manga's, is still money in their pockets. Also, I just want to point out (lol). Sometimes their summaries are so corny and horrible sounding that it makes me cringe and over-look some pretty good series. La Corda d'Oro, Maid-sama!, Happy Cafe, and OHSHC have me face-palming and embarrassed that I even looked at the summary.

Anyway, it's irritating, but it's happening. My main concern is.. what about the manga that have not been licensed and that I adore? 1/2 Prince, Karneval, Giant Killing, Barajou no Kiss, Nurarihyon no Mago, Ao no Exorcist, Gokusen ..etc. I'm never going to be able to read them again and the manga companies don't care. *2nd le sigh* See, they don't get it, that's how we can tell them what manga to bring over and license!!!!

Oh, well. Nothing I can do about it. If they wish to be stupid, so be it.

My List: of manga that will, probably, never get licensed.
1/2 Prince
Ao no Exorcist
Giant Killing
Akagami no Shirayukihime
Ashita no Ousama
Barajou no Kiss
Karneval
Kingyo Sou
Nadeshiko Club
Otokomae Beas Club
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo
You're My Girlfriend
Boku wa kisu de Uso wo
Gokusen
Eikaiwa School Wars
Nurarihyon no Mago
Kirameki Gingachou Shoutengai
Tonari no Megane-kun
Nousatsu Rock Shounen
Warau Kanako-sama
Seirei Produce
Yamamoto Zenjirou to Moushimasu
Fuan no Tane
Doublets
Crimsom Empire
Matsuri Special
Nanaco Robin
S.L.H. - Stray Love Hearts!
Maimiko Touko no Jikenbo

And that is only a small list.

I love karneval but there are no new chapters Q.Q
