Yeah, it is difficult to decide in a situation like that. And if you really get to the basic premises it becomes even more difficult. I started reading a 600 page book just dealing with this argument, and the more I read, the more undecided I become.
It is not a "do you agree or disagree" situation like the beginning of the thread suggests.

here is a related question

This game might give you more information about where exactly are you positioned in different moral issues

well i already ran though alot of that info in my head what makes them great, what was this going to do, what if the others were evil, the were going to do for a reason, they might get transplanets in time and not all die, etc..... Altough when you think about it that is not what you are to take in account. As you said you cant alter the deal. So ultimately it does boil down to yes or no. To fact in anything else when you cant is pointless. I mean it is the same thing is you have a bad going back over it. What if i did that instead of what i did or maybe this would of made it better. No point in thinking about things that you cant change and really have nothing to do with where you are at.

You can possibly change the future, your future, if you make your choices right. Everything depends on how you react to a certain situation and how you decide to solve it.

Coz in the end, whatever you did in the past, eventually, take effect in the future.

Well, if a person is certain to what he believes, and to what he does,
The end justifies it, no matter how many obstacles want to overpower it.

If I understood you correctly:
That same logic could be used for being racist. I just saw a documentary on Aryan supremacists and they justified their hate with basically the same thing you said.

better have a feasibility test first,
if what you want is applicable and possible.
be practical of course!

Whatever. . .ends doesn't not justify the means because action is define by morals so if you pick evil then it suits your end but if you pick good then your basically ending it in good. . .So what I am trying to say is that all ends meet with complications by people who oppose it. . .so thus. . . .outcomes do not necessarily reflect the ends that you want. . .

i think the ends always justify the means, if the ends are to better help the world, or some people.

stem-cell, for instance. killing off fetuses to possibly save millions of lives.
the holocaust (to begin with). before they started killing off all the jews, the HATING of the jews brought a country that was in some serious shit together, and created a smooth running machine. what they did with it wasnt right, but it started out good.

* just to let you know the stem cells doesnt need to be taken from fetuses anymore. everyone has it, by separating the fat and the nucleus and there goes ur stem cells.
