Wow, never knew that crappy site meant so much to people. Just go to another site. Isn't mangafox just as good?

They're trying to take down all websites hosting scanlated manga. Mangafox included and as well as any other website out there..

It's a pain, really... nevertheless, they can't stop us. We're god of the internet after all

They should get permission prior to posting all the stuff, methinks.

It's such a sad thing to hear that Onemanga is taking all it's manga away. I wonder why they won't do what mangafox did and just get rid of the manga that is licensed. There would still be a large amount of manga that would remain and people would be able to enjoy them there which they would have never been able to have read before. It's really sad though. Mangafox doesn't compare to onemanga because onemanga was a much safer site to go on: no pop up ads, never encountered a virus there, the pages never froze there unlike mangafox.

*sigh* I know that mangakas should get some money from their works but this is mainly a publisher war. They only care about how much money they can get... They are the rich middleman that gets the most out of all the manga sold. I buy manga all the time (despite it taking over thousands of dollars from me since it's so expensive) but sometimes I feel as though the publisher does a horrible job with translating or other similar things. This year alone, many of the more popular publishers have all raised their prices a dollar or more despite it being a little pricey in the first place. Tokyopop is now 10.99 and they have replaced their paper to a rather mediocre kind that is so flimsy and thin that you can actually see the other side's ink.

I'm really sad now to see how money can affect so many people's happiness.

Maybe we can warm up the icy hearts of those greedy Japanese corporations with a warm island song

Hey those Japanese are not greedy. Do you know it is hard to make a living in the anime and manga field in Japan. They make ends meet like the rest of us. If someone was stealing from you would you watch them take the stuff or get angry and get it back. The same concept goes here. Personally, I have had so much stolen from me because of my brother, his friends, and I couldn't do anything about it. It was because I didn't have proof that they took it. Well the same thing is happening to Japan and they are getting pissed. Some of them are already barely making it.

What they should do is take the stuff of the net,get permission from manga companies and go from there. The legal way is always the better way. Face it if more sites showed free stuff then everyone does it who is going to pay for all of this stuff in the long run. Eventually the people would stop making it and there you go. Is that what you really want?

I think someone needs to calm you down by singing a warm island song

I was shocked and broken hearted at the notice that onemanga was shutting down, but when i read the information that dictates why they are shutting down scanlation sites i realized something. Though this is my opinion and i have no evidence other than what it says in the articles i believe the manga industry isn't doing this mainly because of the translation of the stories but because these websites have advertisements on them. Having the advertisements give the scanlation sites profit (or atleast so i've heard) and make it something of a business. I think the manga industry feels that the fact other people are making money off of their products is the problem and not the scanlations themselves. Honestly if you were using naruto, bleach, etc. to make money would you want other people to make make money off it for far less effort than you have put in. I think there is still hope for scanlations if we can all help encourage sites to remove advertisements and other money making methods, to make scanlating less of a business and more of a non-profit thing.
