I was wondering if anyone has been on mission trips? I have been on one to Haiti and it was AMAZING! It was so amazing to see people getting saved, helping them, and watching God preform miracles. If you have been/plan on going please share your experiences

Ooh, never been to one. Could you please tell me more about your experience? It sounds really exciting! How long was it, what did you do there, who did you go with, how were the people like, the place, the food and etc.

Awsome! Me too! XD
I went to St. Loui de Nour and Aun Sa Valor (vodoo capitol of the world)
When did you go?
I went over the summer.
It really was cool!
I got some great pictures too.
My youth group is planning to go to a new mission over there this summer.

Last time we did soo much!
We helped with construction, went to an orphanage twice, fed and watched kids, had like 10 VBSs, a sports camp, helped with disabled kids, taught English, and had 2 partys for the old people that lived at the mission!
Once we took an hour boat ride to the next island to have a VBS. Before that I didn't know I got sea sick. ^.^' I know now! lol It was SO worth it though!
I can't wait to go again! XD

I did so much stuff over there that I absoluetly won't do at home! haha
I spent a lot of time in the kitchens and playing with kids.
(I can't cook to save my life and I don't like little kids)
What shocked my parents when I got home was that I got up early enough to take pictures of the sunrise! haha I love my sleep. :p

This is the street just outside the mission.

This summer I went to Mississippi to help rebuild houses for people who lost theirs in Hurricane Katrina two years ago. It was such a phenomenal experience. We also went out to a poor area of New Orleans, seeing the neighborhood struck my heart. It gave me such a headache. Trucks were turned over, houses were destroyed, some houses were wiped completely off the property, only leaving their doorsteps, and a mailbox. People wrote over their houses, begging, "Don't demonlish! Going to rebuild!" I had no idea that New Orleans was still this bad. It's been two years, and I had hardly heard anything about it over the news. That gave me such a headache, because I felt I had the right to know. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to help the people in Mississippi. It was so amazing how grateful they were. This was an amazing experience for me. It brought me closer to God, closer to my youth group, and also opened my eyes. If only I had known. I had no idea of the struggle the victims of Hurricane Katrina are still facing.

We stayed in Leogane Haiti for 9 days. We built a concrete floor for a church, opened a medical clinic, Gave supplies to families, worked in schools, and taught Vacation Bible School to about 450 children.

the food was different, we could only eat at the mission, but we did eat Haitian food (it was cooked by locals who work for the mission) We had things like pumpkin soup, mangoes, Conch, and some other things.

The majority of the people were very sweet, but there was also a significant voodoo population that avoided us and weren't too happy with us. We didn't run into any trouble though. The faith of these people is amazing, despite poverty and corruption, the Christians' faith there was genuine. We went to 4 Haitian church services and I cried, I was just amazing.

europe of Japan? You mean 'or'?

I believe God wants Japan saved. I pray for more mission trips there this year.

oops, yes 'or'
yeah I think that Japan seems to be forgotten because it is fairly technologically advanced. yet it, like everywhere else, needs missionaries. (heck, even Canada needs missionaries)

I think Japan would be awesoem only 2% of the the nationa is christian or catholic. I heard China is really coimg to God. The wuld be cool. There always need missionaries to the far east. But mayeb we shoudl help our nieghbors first. I tihnk going to Mexcio or Canada would be cool.
I've been no where. My church (same as Mina's) went to Hiati once but we couldn't afford this year.
