Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the 3rd pedal should never die!!! It should always remain!
Without the third pedal, where is the pleasure in driving and being in total control of your vehicule?

Manual transmission forever <3

I will physically not buy an automatic car I can't drive them.

(I have very terrible focus when driving, unless I'm concentrating on something like shifting gears or clutching I will lose focus and make mistakes.)

3 pedals. Best way to interact and love a car. End of story.

I cannot stand auto's. They literally put me to sleep.

I have a hard enough time staying awake when I'm driving home after working overnight. I do NOT need a slushbox making me more drowsy.

And I love being in control. Being able to control how harsh or soft my shifts are, how fast my shifts are, and all the timing.

I became so obsessed with smooth up shifts and down shifts, that besides the exhaust noise, you can't physically feel the car up and down shifting when I'm cruising around. Saves the clutch too.

My sorority sister bought a brand new mini cooper and paid an additional 1000 to make it AUTOMATIC.

A piece of me died that day.

I love manuals so much I'm going through the trouble of switching my E34 540I over to a 6 speed getrag from an M5 :)

Only two vehicles in my driveway are auto-tragics, a 94 infiniti and a 2001 Jetta....infiniti is moms and jetta is older sisters.

All 4 of My cars are manual, and i will always own at least 1.

A manual transmission car is better I believe in every way except for serious drag racing. If you properply learn how to drive a manual trans car it will always save you more gas then the automatic version of the same car. A manual trans car forces the driver to pay more attention so I do feel it would stop more people from texting while driving. I just learned about 2 years ago how to drive a manual trans car and I never plan to go back to auto. Drove a friends car the other day that was auto, felt so weird not being able to have full controll of the car and missing that third pedal.

Do you do the finding foot when you get into an automatic?
I also have issues with stomping on the dead pedal in an automatic and trying to downshift...my GF gave me a WTF look the other day when a deer jumped out in front of us and my left foot stomped on the dead pedal and i attempted to shift her civic when there isn't a shifter to shift with....No one in her family, Including her step father, can drive a manual.

Which is awesome because it keeps her brother away from my BMW....

I am 100% for saving the manuals ... it makes me sad that I had to literally hunter all over southern Michigan to buy my brand new car (2013 Chevrolet Cruze 1LT RS package with the Turbo'd Inline 4 with a 6-speed manual) and it was a pain, a serious pain.

I have seen a number of comments regarding TBH Triptronic or SportTronic auto trans and I can see why they are good, especially when you have a Veyron that shifts in the miliseconds ...

But I'm sorry, that $1M bucket won't hold up to a '69 Yenko Camaro Custom with a 4-speed (in sheer awesomeness) on the floor ... Pure American Muscle. 'Nuff Said.

Long live the Manuals!
