Of course racism still exist. You can't get rid of it. As long as different races exist, there will always be racism. Yes, people have been racist against me, just like I've been racist to others. I try not to, but I can't help but judge sometimes. It's human nature.

Never to an extent where I would completely hate someone because of race. But we joke around here and there when it comes to background/race. People who actually HATE others to death because of race are sad. I think poking fun here and there is okay. But hating them..nah. Needs to go.

Of course racism still exists. From the blatant to the more subtle. I live in a very diverse city and I can tell you plenty stories. No one has been racist towards me (at least not to my face). I think that all the force interaction between the races gives birth to a weird form of racism. (I'm talking from my own experience) People take jabs at each other and laugh together later but still say "you know how they are."

I worked in a showroom for linens in Downtown L.A. when I was in highschool and and there was all this competition. Not between the businesses but between the races. Armenians don't trust the Indians. Indians don't trust Hispanics. Hispanics don't trust Blacks. NO ONE trusts the Chinese. But they all depended on one another. It's a love hate relationship here.

I used to think that racism in born from ignorance. But I've come to the conclusion that it's born from familiarity and breeds and festers in ignorance.

Yeah it's still out there. I don't really care unless it affects my chances at getting something I want. Racist jokes and stuff like that never offend me at all, I find them quite funny actually lol.

Well, my school honestly isn't very multicultural. The majority of people here are white, mot many dark skinned (and if so most of them are only part), and like, 5 asians including myself even though I'm not strictly full japanese. Racism definitly still exists in the world, just think of the refugees that get on boats and risk their lives just to be held in secret detention centers. I think that's cruel considering all they were trying to do was escape danger and save their children. At school we joke around and stuff, but we never actually mean it, and they ask me if I find that offensive and apologise if I do.

The numbers have certainly increased though. Ten years ago there were probably like 5 asian families in the whole area.

Racism? I think its pretty common, especially in parts of the world where multiple races reside under one single party (government). I can understand jokes which tend to be a little racist at times, but I can't seem to find a reason why people would go further than that. What's the point of racism?

Mild points of racism may be fine, but I really think those extreme ones aren't thinking rationally.

People haven't been racist to me but stereotypical.... Like when I finally got a relaxer and my hair didn't fall out, all the black girls were like: "Are you mixed?" "Are you mixed?" "You're mixed right?" "Where did you get your hair done?" "Who did your hair?" "Who does your hair?" Ugh... Just because my hair is long and straight, doesn't mean I'm mixed! Only one black girl knew I was fully black. And why were they all trying to touch my hair? I don't have tracks!

Yes, Racism is definitely still out there. I see it all the time and it's disgusting. I don't understand why people separate each other based on race and put down other races to raise their race up. This is the opposite affect of getting more respected. I agree, some stereotype or race jokes are funny. But when you truly put down another race and make-fun of them, then that's no good. But hey - when there is good, there will always be bad. Just as there will be people who wants a racism free world, there will be those who are racist.

Have someone been racist towards me? Of course. You hear all sort of hellish racism towards me or my type of people. But I also have met many wonderful individuals. Those who put the exterior aside and just knows how to have a good time together: Friends.

So, do I care if people are racist? In a sense I want to care - but its not for me to change them. Racism causes a lot of unnecessary fights and hatred. But, I can't do anything except just be 1 less racist person in the world. =) All I can do is just shower others with my presence to break the cultural barriers and see past the exterior.

Racism in my hometown wasn't really all that wide spread among my age group. A lot of older folk were obviously racist, but since they weren't able or willing to set up segregated communities they had to be civil to each other. Without the self segregation, their kids (like me) very rarely picked up their prejudices.
