I say let them wear whatever they want. If a guy wants to go dressed as Dorothy and a Girl wants to go dressed in a tux then they should be allowed to do so.
However, there is a dress code in general that everyone is asked to follow to attend prom. Hence, even a guy wearing a dress should wear a proper dress. Moreover, I can understand the principal for kicking people out because of the "oversexed" manner they were dancing. However, banning cross-dressing in prom is just discriminatory.
I can also guess there were also a lot of heterosexual couples dancing in a suggestive way yet they weren't kicked were they? Also, If gay couples want to dance together they should be allowed.

Tradition has nothing to do with it, the principal is just abusing her power to discriminate homosexual, cross-dressers and all the gay community. Another thing, the word tradition is often used to suggest that the way things were or are done SHOULD be the way things are to be done. Using the word tradition to justify her decisions is pitiful. Its like saying "Married women should stay in the house and cook is tradition" or "We should keep having more wars is tradition" and so on.

The principal did well to announce that... I bet the principal in our school wouldn't even bother to read the deatils if I write a letter to him...

I'm going to prom in a dress prolly... cause my school things I'm gay anyways.. might as well leave with a joke or two...

I don't think my school would care either... cause I really think most of the guy teachers really are gay... I know two for sure are gay... and I'm skeptical of a few others >.>

Well last year a lesbian brought her girlfriend to our school’s prom. The two of them danced in a wildly disgusting an insanely sexual way that made everybody sick. They were completely hideous so… Anyway, the same year a guy showed up in a dress as a gag. A girl, following the tradition of her elder sisters, also showed up in a tux. (In fact it was her big sister who gave the guy, a dude I know who’s actually straight…or so he claims) the idea.

The dress started up a big fuss and they booted him. Then the girl in the tux. Nobody was really bothered (The dress was a tit squeezer cleavage dress. It was really gross on that big old hairy guy, specially when he got all sweaty on the dance floor. The tux wasn’t gross at all, hardly even a distraction..) So any who’s the girl stayed in the place and wasn’t harassed for it until some guy got mad and called the principle sexist. He was promptly booted and given detention. Nobody else protested to her, but we all complained about it.

Well about this time the lesbians show up. Didn’t bother anyone, except they were gross. But in their defense it was a bad song choice and straight couples were dirty dancing too. The lesbians were allowed to stay through prom but this year no homosexual couples were allowed. The principle threatened with expulsion. Same with guys in a dress. She’s allowing girls to wear tuxes. Which isn’t actually sexist in my opinion, because like I said. A hair dude in a dress is a distraction. A girl in a tux is a novelty.

The principle defends herself saying that, “Prom isn’t about love it’s about tradition. The tradition is for a boy and girl to go together.” She says that she is not restricting peoples sexuality, but demanding that aged traditions be respected.

I think this is a poor cover up. Prom was a while back, and I had meant to make this thread then, but it slipped my mind and I was just reminded by another thread. I dunno, I think they may have abolished the rules for next year, but one way or another the bigotry was very present this year.

What do you think, CR?

wait let me get this right as a joke a gurl dress in a guy tux and the guy dress in a gurl dress....i think that fuckin sick...

You should know this by now...guys 100% gets into trouble and for the gurls 50%

I think the principal in your story is actually a lying bitch

and just because a guy or girl cross dresses doesn't automatically make them gay, some ppl cross dress but are not gay
