Just a quick video game note. At Saturday's WWE Summerslam Axxess event, THQ will release the roster for the WWE '12 video game. This will be huge for fans but also any wrestler or talent or makes the roster since the residual pay tends to be huge for them.

Thanks Andy! I'm slowly getting back on track but might need 1 more day to anime catch up and more on work front so thanks again for the news updates. I hope to be back onto Behind the Scenes ones tomorrow; for the moment though here's a more in depth review of WWE 12:

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2011/08/15/18557321.html

Inside the article it includes talk on:

*The return to the 2006 style of grappling with buttons and the stick or D-pad

*A better game pace as compared to last year's game

*A renewed limb damage system for submissions and the new "breaking point"

* A new Kick-Out Meter

* A smarter AI that's more aggressive than past years

* The note on roster omissions/additions as andy1 posted above, but also the cut-off date for content inclusion being more recent than past years to allow updates like Punk's new theme song Cult of Personality

* More moves for Create-a-Moveset

* Surprise Legends additions with some info on each

* The all new Create-an-Arena mode

* Tweaks to the Road to Wrestlemania single-player mode, and the WWE Universe mode

WWE '12 will be released on November 22 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. For the first time, the game will not be available for Playstation 2 and hand-held consoles, meaning that if you want to experience this game, you have to go to a next-gen console. Pre-ordering the game will get you an exclusive code to unlock The Rock as a playable character.

so my kid and i got to play a few minutes of WWE 12 at SummerSlam Axxess. it was quite a privelige to play it so early. but i must be honest. i sucked at it just as bad as i suck at Smackdown Vs Raw 2011, 2010 etc... i felt no improvements in gameplay whatsoever. the character manipulation and movement was just as hard(or easy) as it was on SD v RAW, as far as i can tell(which isnt much, apparently). sure, there were new graphics, new HUD, new display yadda yadda yadda... but i felt it was not much different than SD v RAW. now keep in mind that all this is coming from someone who sucks at playing it in the first place.

but my kid says she likes it alot better! she says it was smoother, the characters didnt go "through" eachother(watever that means), and she said there was a bit more 'control' when doing special moves and stuff like that. so i guess its quite literally a matter of opinion and skill. and my skill in that game is like non-existant, so idk how much weight u can put on my opinion. the bottom line is this: i dont see myself buying WWE 12 in the near future, no matter how much my kid begs for it. i think id rather save up for the WII U.

-THQ has confirmed that Owen Hart and Andre the Giant would not be included in the WWE '12 video game.

IGN has a new article on WWE 12 at http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/121/1210005p1.html where they talk about the revamped story line mode.

In an interesting note, current TNA X-Division champion Austin Aries voices the role of the character you create. Aries is also one of the people that did motion capture work on the WWE games in recent years.
