The game's out and did some good numbers.

-Multiple positive reviews are coming up such as http://www.g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/65319/wwe-12/review/ and http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2011/11/21/19001321.html

-WWE 12, which is out now, is now the most pre-ordered WWE game ever, beating SVR 2008. And keep in mind, there were six platforms for the latter game and only three for this year's.

Enjoy the game.

There's been news noted initially in the Behind the Scenes news on THQ that's expanded in a clarification now.

Here is the official statement from THQ regarding business rumors:

“THQ has not cancelled its 2014 line-up, and has not made any decisions regarding the planned MMO. As part of the ongoing review of our business, we have made decisions to ensure that the company is strategically addressing the most attractive markets. As we have previously announced, we have dramatically reduced our commitment to the kids' boxed games sector which leads to a significantly more focused release schedule moving forward. Our slate for calendar 2012 and beyond is focused on high-quality core games and continues to build our digital platform and business. We are excited for our pipeline of original and high-quality content along with our relationships with some of the best talent in the industry.

Additionally, we are thrilled with the great performance of Saints Row: The Third, which on a like for like period in North America has tripled in sell-through from Saints Row 2. In addition, WWE ’12’s worldwide sell-through sales are up almost 40% year-over-year for the same sales period with fewer platforms. According to NPD, for the month of December and the 2011 year, THQ was the #5 publisher overall, #4 third party, with reported sell through growing over 18% in a market that was down almost 6%. And coming up next, we have two great titles for the first half of the year including UFC Undisputed 3 and Darksiders 2.”

A few notes for the upcoming WWE '13 game:

-Corey Ledesma, the creative director of WWE Games, announced for the WWE 13 video game that the Road to WrestleMania mode has been scrapped and will be replaced by a Story Mode. There will be a group of changes announced and it's no secret Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler have been doing stuff for the games of late regarding older talent involvement.

-Road Dogg has noted online that he and Billy Gunn have done the voice work to be in the WWE '13 game as the New Age Outlaws.

-At http://www.gamebandits.com/news/wwe-13-former-wrestlers-provide-mocap-action-36789/ there is a piece on Angela Fong (Savannah) and Harry Smith (DH Smith) being the models for the motion capture for the game. Neither are signed though to be in the WWE.

THQ discussed the success of the WWE 12 video game during their latest quarterly earnings report. here is what they had to say about the game:

"WWE '12 has shipped more than 2.2 million units since its launch in November 2011. The successful rebranding of this annual franchise has led to higher sell-through to date, which is up approximately 20 percent on like-for-like platforms in North America versus the year-ago title"

THQ also noted the next installment of the annual WWE game is scheduled for the end of 2012. This comes on the heels as noted at http://www.gamespot.com/news/devils-third-in-purgatory-at-thq-6376819 that the company has to delay several other games, while http://www.screwattack.com/news/sega-and-thq-back-out-attending-gamescom reports that THQ has to back out of several big gaming conventions like E3 and Gamescom. The reasoning behind THQ filling in the NO option on the RSVP, is simply a matter of money. As in THQ doesn't have the money to attend.

With high priority games like Darksiders 2, WWE 13', and inSane to promote, this is yet another kick to the teeth for THQ. Considering that Gamescom is the largest gaming trade show in the world, the company's presence there could have greatly helped generate interest in those titles.

Just noting again since it was shown on Raw, CM Punk will be the main cover guy for WWE '13, as shown on an XBOX 360 cover.

Meanwhile the company that does the game THQ has found a way from keeping their stocks from being delisted, at least for now.

The company filed plans with the SEC Friday to hold a stockholders meeting on June 29. The purpose of the meeting is to propose a reverse stock split to help avoid being delisted from NASDAQ.

A reverse stock split will make the apparent value per share become greater by making there be less shares. For example, out of the three proposed options (1:3, 1:5 and 1:10) owning three stocks before under the 1:3 ratio would make only one stock after the reverse split.

THQ received the delisting warning from NASDAQ on Jan. 31.

Here is some more news on WWE '13:

-Several reports are citing that WWE '13 might be the last done by THQ. Sources talking to E3 contacts like at http://www.screwattack.com/news/rumor-thq-undertakes-wwe-license-last-time noted that after more than 10 years, with the departure of both of Marcus Stephenson the community manager of the franchise, and THQ art director B. Chambers.that the new president Jason Rubin might be thinking about cutting it loose for sale to another company, similar to how at E3 it was announced that the UFC license got sold to rival EA Sports. The company is losing money and might also fold too also causing its assets to be divvied up to other companies if there are potential buyers, but with the WWE license being so lucrative there would likely be a small bidding war for the rights to make the WWE games.

-An article on Playstation Lifestyle features a statement from THQ, who have denied rumors that it is working on their final WWE game. The licensing agreement is intact through 2017.

The company said in a statement: "We are extremely pleased with our relationship with WWE, and have an exclusive license for the brand through 2017. Our recent video game cover reveal for WWE '13 on Monday Night Raw airing May 28, as well as WWE Superstar Sheamus's recent appearance at E3 showcase examples of how well we are working collaboratively with WWE."

Sheamus was present but reported being irritated and not welcoming as he normally is since he wasn't as recognized or advertised by THQ.

-The first week of pre-orders for the WWE '13 video game increased 250% from the first week of pre-orders for the WWE '12 game last year.
