I have like 2 or 3 male teachers and they all have monotone voices xD
It makes me sleepy because it's boring and-yeah their monotone voices make me sick so I just take notes and block out their voices ^^

i would sleep. when i was in school, i master the ability to fall asleep at my desk sitting up. so as long as the teacher was behind me, they'd never know.

Breathing exercises. Sitting up straight. Sipping water. Visualization exercises (not the mumbo jumbo freaky kind, the normal mind over myself kind). Other classwork. Doodles. Attempting to profile my teacher. Watching classmates body language. Sitting somewhere I can't see the clock and resisting the urge to look at it. Visualizing the various possibilities of my classmates lives. Lip-syncing my teacher. Laughing at my own silly jokes. Internally scorning and chaffing at ignorant answers. Doing other classes homework while taking notes of the current lecture. Drifting off into my own little mental cosmos while following the teacher with my eyes, nodding when appropriate, and making appropriate eye contact. Staring the teacher down. Making faces. Staring at the teacher with a condescending smirk. Scoffing occasionally at what the teacher is saying, (only when i have a legit reason to). Meditating on the day. Amongst many other things... btw I never sleep in class, I paid for it, I'm not about to waste my investment or time. If I want to sleep, i do it at home, why waste my time and anyone else's by being a distraction.

I put my head down. I would sleep if I could, but I can't fall asleep easily in a position like that, so I just rest. My teachers usually don't care, as long as I keep my grades up. I'll also doodle randomly or write whatever comes to mind if I'm getting bored.

For some reason in school I only felt sleepy during English classes; I would be nodding off every now and again but never fell asleep during a lesson. There was so much talking about useless things you'll forget in months. I think English is such a pointless subject.

I tend to either stare at the floor or a wall.
Drink a tonne of water.
Play with my phone.
Listen to music.
Put my textbook up and pretend to read but really I'm sleeping behind it.

I try to be interested in the topic, but most of the time I will start clawing my leg. It don't work because it's my head that wants to go to sleep. So I blink really fast.

I used to go to sleep if it was a teacher who didnt care, or try and think about something exciting to keep myself awake if it was a teacher who would care.

lmao @ all of the post answers.

It's hard to stay alert in class, It's human nature... No matter how much hours of sleep you get, how healthy you eat, how much water/caffeine you consume, you'll end up getting groggy again and you can't help it. Though I get interested in the topic discussion in class and find it useless to me, I don't know how I do it, but I slept with my eyes open for like a couple of minutes and snapped back into reality, and that is all when I slept 10 hours that night, ate healthy, and consumed energy drinks, so I was pretty much all set! but yeah... that's what happened... lol

I would just sleep or often excuse myself and go home. I wasn't the greatest student.
