The highest rate of bad drivers? possibly because we drive EVERYWHERE... need to go a quarter mile down the road... hop in the car! Other nations use other methods of transportation such as trains, buses, and bikes.

That is a rather valid point, but does not really excuse the problem itself.

I passed the written part of the test in my driver ed. class in school when i was 15 years old (my state requires i take the class, and i have pass the final exam of the class with the score of 70 or 80)... i toke the actual driving test when i was 16 and i fail it .. i blame my freakin driving teacher who was to do a refresher course on the city i was scheduled on my b-day.. i did the refresher course and ready 2 take the driving test, only 2 find out tht i was in the wrong city, so now my driving teacher drove all the way 2 the other city "tht i was actual scheduled at", at 60 mph while driving with one hand talkin some person about a chemistry paper in the highway (btw it's good example for me) .. When i arrived I have absolutely no idea wat 2 expect on my driving course, disorientated i passed everything except the parallel parking ... but after a year i retook the drivers exam n i passed it easily now, n now i still have a provisonal license and i will get my real one when i turn 18

Good luck with your exam!

Actually i'm not required to take the driving exam anymore becuz i already did it, the only thing i have to do was to practice unsupervised driving for a year (until i'm 18) and then i could go up 2 the DMV and get my real license... but thanks anyway =D

I'm not excusing the problem, just stating the fact that we have the most cars on the road = higher possibilities of accidents.

The permit was easy...well, took 2 tries...after the first one...just review more of other people's test and bam ACED.
Getting the license itself was a bit more difficult. Just practice

I have a driver's license. Getting the permit was kind of hard for me because I did not like the test but getting the license was easy even though I was a little bit nervous

The written test is annoying.
The actual driving is easy.

I took a driver's ed class in high school, which helped me to get my license. It's pretty intimidating when you first start out, but once you keep practicing, you'll get the hang of it. Eventually, you're gonna start to hate driving. Especially if you have annoying in-laws. Trust me on that one.

I was 17 when I got my license, no permit before. I learned on my own, with the help of my bf and a few friends. And took care of all the paperwork on my own. My parents were a little caught up in a divorce to help me so I helped myself. I got 1 wrong on the computer test, the question was "What do you do if your tire blows out?" it was multiple choice. The correct answer is allow the vehicle to slow on it's own, do not apply the brakes. For the driving I aced it :p

Got my license at around 17. Never really drove those first 2 years because of college (too expensive to keep a car on campus). So my first REAL driving experiences came from when I was stationed in Germany and drove on the Autobahn. That, my friends, will school you in driving real quick.
