Tachineputa festival begins in Goshogawara
The annual and traditional Tachineputa festival has begun in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, northeastern Japan, with a parade of huge floats.
Fireworks signaled the start of the summer festival on Wednesday evening, followed by 16 doll-styled floats including 3 giant ones, towering more than 20-meters high.
Many spectators from across the country cheered and applauded as the floats paraded through the city of Goshogawara with traditional folk sounds of Japanese flute and drums.
Tachineputa festival will continue until Sunday.
